Today was another day of vegetation, for the most part. My boss
called with some more work for me. My sister was on the phone
for a while, and then she came into my room and said Susi LeMaire
beeped in, and that I was to call her back. I called and we talked
for quite a while. Later in the day I decided to format my computer
again because something I had done added some quirky features
to Windows that I had no other way of getting rid of. I think
everything's set up the way I want them now. Later on in the night,
I called Thomas Hollingsworth so we could talk about some last-minute
details for the LAN party this weekend. Somehow some things aren't
going quite right, but I think we should be able to pull everything
off alright. This tournament/LAN party will be a lot of fun. Be
there, or be square, or at least a slightly rounded rectangle.

I didn't do a whole lot today. I got up and worked on my computer
a bit to get things back to their normal working order. Susi LeMaire
called, and we talked until it was time for me to get ready and
go to Tech. I had an appointment to go have my picture ID made,
and to register for classes. I don't know exactly what I'm getting
into with college, but I suppose I'll find out soon enough. After
I got back home, I called Jason Huynh to tell him he could bring
his old computer over if he wanted. He and Coe Biggers came, and
a little while later Chris Lomax showed up. They all left after
a little while, and I continued to try and fix Jason's computer.
I got tired of it, though, and put it aside. I spent the remainder
of the day in a vegetable-like state of mind.

I actually got out of the house today. I went all around town
with Angie Jennings. First we went to Old Post Park for a while.
She showed me Caudle Overlook, and then we went walking around
some trails there. After that she showed me Dardanelle Rock. We
had to walk a ways to get there, but it was pretty neat once we
did. We sat up on a big rock to talk for a while. After that we
went to Sonic, because we were both thirsty, and I hadn't eaten
all day. She couldn't believe I have survived living in this town
all my life, so I went and showed her my old house and then the
one I live in now. We sat around in my room for a little while,
got bored, and then we went to her house so she could show me
her room. From there we went to Wal-Mart to drop off some film
she had, and then I took her back home. I came home myself to
see if anyone had come online. I thought Kerryn Johns was on,
so I went to go visit, but whoever was on her account tricked
me into going to visit an empty house. I went to see if she was
at work, but she wasn't there either. By then it was time for
me to go to work, but when I got there I was told the meeting
was canceled. Having the rest of the day off, I went to Jason
Huynh's house to see what he was up to. He, Coe Biggers, and I
went to go get snow cones, but the snow cone stand was closed.
Instead, we all went up to Chris Lomax's house for a while. I
helped him set up his new computer, and he offered to give me
a ride back since Jason and Coe decided to leave. After a while
we decided it was time to go, so he gave me a ride back to Jason's
house where my car was. I came home and sat around the rest of
the night. Just after I returned home, Susi LeMaire called to
talk for a while. After she had to go, I sat around some more,
talked to Thomas Hollingsworth on the phone, and then formatted
my computer and reinstalled Windows just before going to bed.

5-28-01
Today was another boring day for me. I got up really early for
some reason, and just sat on the computer waiting for people to
come online. It took a while, but eventually people started popping
up. Unfortunately, none of them seemed to want to talk to me.
I sat on the computer for most of the day. Later in the evening
I went with my dad to drop off a car for my mom at the Wal-Mart
parking lot. We came home, and I resumed my sitting and vegetating.
I need a hobby, preferably one that makes lots of money and doesn't
require me to walk around town in women's' clothing and makeup.

5-27-01
I didn't do much today. I got up and sat around the house for
a while. In the afternoon, my dad and sister wanted to go shopping,
so I tagged along. We went to JC Penney where I saw Nikki Barr.
I said all of about a dozen words to her before she went back
to work. Then we went to Wal-Mart and got some pictures my dad
had dropped off for me before to get developed. Most of them were
pretty blurry. I don't like my camera any more. I want a digital.
Someone buy me a digital.
After we finished up at Wal-Mart, we stopped by K-Mart for some
more stuff. I tried a Red Mountain Dew. It was great. Then we
went to take my sister to church. It was only supposed to last
for a little while, but when it took longer than expected, my
dad dropped me off back at home. I couldn't find anything to do
though, so I wound up just sitting in boredom. Thomas Hollingsworth
and I got things ready for the tournament
this Saturday and Sunday. We needed to go over some more things,
so we went to the Waffle House for a while to talk about things
and grab a little bite to eat. We got a lot of stuff accomplished,
and the Waffle House is one of the best places in town that I
know of to get a burger, despite the strange people that work
there. When I got home, I laid around and listened to the rain
outside. I opened my windows and put on a kooky "Echoes of
Nature" CD I was given last year. Somehow I felt like the
storm needed a bit more thunder than was naturally produced, and
my subwoofer was a pleasant substitute.

5-26-01
My dad, sister, and I were going to my grandparents' house today
for a hamburger cookout. Just before I started getting ready to
go, Susi LeMaire called to talk for a while. She said she was
planning on coming into town to go to the Tech library. I couldn't
help but laugh a little later when I found out the library was
closed for the day. I tried calling her back to tell her, but
she had already left. I got ready and went on up to my grandparents'
house in Heber Springs. I had a pretty good time up there. Cookouts
are always fun. My dad wanted to go visit an old high school friend
of his while we were up there, but he wasn't there when we stopped
by to visit. We went back to my grandparents' house and sat around
for a while. Eventually we decided it was time to head home. We
stopped by his friend's house once more before we left town. He
wasn't there again, so we drove on home. When I got home, I just
sat and watched some movies on TV for a few hours.

5-25-01
I had to get up early this morning to take my mom to the Wal-Mart
parking lot so she could go to Tunica. On the way we stopped by
to pick up my aunt as well. I dropped them off, and then headed
back home. I got on the computer for a few hours to work on some
stuff for work. My boss called and said it was their anniversary,
and they were going out for the weekend, so we don't have to go
to work until Monday. After that I went to sleep for a while.
I got up later and went back to my computer. It got pretty boring
for a while, but then Kerryn Johns got online and told me to go
to her house. I went over there to hang out for a while, and then
left when she had to go to work. When I got back home, Susi LeMaire
called, and we talked for a little while, but I had to go when
my dad needed to use the phone, and she never called me back.
I sat around the house until later that night when I went to pick
up my sister from the coffee shop. I saw some friends there, and
stayed for a while myself until my sister decided it really was
time to go home. I took her friend Andrea home, we went to Kroger
to get some cool whip for orange salad, and then we came home.
By then I was so exhausted I just fell asleep.

5-24-01
This morning, Thomas Hollingsworth called me before Susi LeMaire
did. He and I sat and talked for quite a while, and then Susi
beeped in. I asked her to call back in an hour or so, but Thomas
and I finished up sooner and I called her back. Then she and I
talked for a while as usual. After we finished, I got on the computer
and worked on it for the rest of the day. Thomas called back several
times to talk to me while he was trying to repair his computer.
He had to format and reinstall Windows. Jason Huynh called to
say his monitor went out, and he's going to have to send it back
for repair or replacement. It seems like everyone's computers
have been dying lately. Eric Duerr came over for a bit to pick
up a CD, and then he left. Thomas and I talked on into most of
the night as he worked on getting his computer up and running
again, and I stayed busy with things for work.

5-23-01
I woke up again this morning when Susi LeMaire called. I've come
to expect her to call around the same time every day. She's my
wake-up call now. After I got off the phone with her, I got on
the computer for a while and got a bit of work done. Jason Huynh
called again later to see if I could go to his house and help
finish up his computer. I didn't go over until my dad got home
later. I couldn't figure out what was wrong there, so we brought
his computer over to my house and hooked it up here. Chris Lomax
came over for a while to get a CD, and then Jared Fitzgibbon and
Matt Farrar came over when we couldn't figure out what was wrong
with Jason's video card. Jared fixed it fairly quickly, and then
left. Then Chris, a friend of his, and Coe Biggers showed up.
Coe gave Jason a ride home with his computer and everything, and
then everyone was back out of the house. Jason called later to
say his video wasn't working again. I went over to check it out.
The card just wasn't in all the way. We got everything working
except the zip drive, which we eventually just took out of the
machine. We rewired everything so the room would look a lot nicer,
bunched up excess cords, and got the system set up the way he
wanted it. Tribes 2 runs so smoothly on his system. I want an
upgrade so badly. When I left his house, I realized it had rained
outside with my car window down. Now I'm exhausted.

5-22-01
Susi LeMaire called again this morning, so we talked for quite
a while. After she had to go, I got online and talked to Thomas
Hollingsworth and worked on some stuff for Damage
Gaming. Jason Huynh called again in the afternoon, so I went
over to his house to help finish setting up his computer. We had
a few problems with it, so while it sat and thought, Jason, Coe
Biggers, and I walked to the snow cone place by Kroger. After
we got our snow cones, I followed them into Kroger while they
went looking for snacks. We didn't get anything, and headed back
to Jason's house to continue working on his computer. Coe left
when we got back, and Jason and I continued to work on his computer.
We got Jared Fitzgibbon to drop by a boot disk, but it didn't
help us get anywhere. Jason and I decided to come back to my house,
download Windows 2000 Service Pack 2, burn it onto a CD with my
new Plextor 16x10x40 CD burner, and then try installing it on
his system to get things to work better. When I got home, my parents
made me finish up my thank-you cards and some paperwork for the
dorm at Tech before I could have my package. Coe called Jason,
and came over to meet us here. They sat around while I finished
up the cards, and decided to leave when we figured out the download
was over 100 megs. I was going to meet back up with them after
I finished things up at home, but it got late and Jason just decided
to finish it up tomorrow. Later, I was playing with my CD burner
when I created a coaster, a discus, and a disc rifle target, before
I successfully created 3 working CDs.

5-21-01
I got up this morning when Susi LeMaire called. We talked for
a while, and then she had to get off of the phone for her dad,
so I got on my computer for a while. I talked with Thomas Hollingsworth
for a while about Damage
Gaming, and our LAN party/tournament coming up in June. Then
I decided to just call him so we could talk better. There's a
new registration form up now for both the LAN and tournament.
Later in the afternoon, Jason Huynh called to say he got all of
his new computer parts in, and that he needed some help piecing
it all together. I went over to help him out, but I thought I
had run into a slight problem and ran to Thomas for the answer.
Jason, Coe Biggers, and I all piled into Jason's car and went
to pick him up for some help. I was afraid the power supply wasn't
mounted correctly, but I didn't see the little braces that were
holding it up from the bottom. Thomas and I worked on putting
the thing together for a while, and then everyone started getting
hungry. First Free Will Baptist Church was having an all-you-can-eat
spaghetti meal at Italian Gardens, so we went to that and I saw
several friends there. After that we all went back to Jason's
house to finish putting the computer together. We got it all stuck
together and started moving his desk and computer into his bedroom,
and then Thomas had to head on home. Jason took him home while
Coe played a game on Jason's Game Gear, and I sat fixing the computer.
I got everything set up and started installing Windows on it.
Since that process would take forever, we went to Hastings so
they could return a couple of videos. We wandered around in there
for a while, and I stopped to talk to Eric Moore. He and Nikki
Barr are getting married on, I believe he said, the 9th of June.
As soon as I get the details straight, I'll add that to the News
page. We left Hastings and went back to Jason's house for a bit
before his mom told us it was getting too late to finish the computer.
The three of us decided to go to Coe's house to hang out for a
while, so we went there for a couple hours or so. It eventually
got pretty late, so Jason and I headed on out. I think some sleep
would do me some good right now.

5-20-01
Today was a fun day. My dad had his magic club meeting to go
to in Fort Smith. While I was waking up, I got on the computer
and talked to Angie Jennings for a bit, and invited her to come
with us. She figured it'd be more fun than sitting around all
day, so after everyone got ready we headed on out and picked her
up along the way. While we were in the van, I was sitting in the
back seat and tossed a little piece of trash into a Wal-Mart bag
hanging on the arm rest of a front seat. This was the highlight
of my day, as the bag was mostly closed and it was an incredibly
lucky shot. We continued on to Fort Smith, and we all actually
went to the meeting this time. My mom wandered around the library
while my dad, sister, Angie, and I all went to the meeting. There
were quite a few people there, so it was pretty fun. Angie got
to help out with a trick, and in the process, learned what hatches
out of little blue eggs. After the meeting, we went to Chuck E.
Cheese's to eat, which was a first for Angie. We played one of
the racing games, ate, and watched in horror as the mechanical
beasts revealed themselves from behind the curtains and sang strangely
twisted songs about broken eggs and children being hurt after
attempting to retrieve water from a nearby well. We left that
place shivering with fear, dragging my mother away from a somehow
addicting game, similar to those cheap, plastic, party favor,
pinball type contraptions. From there we went to a couple oriental
food stores. Angie and I sat out in the car to talk while everyone
else went in to buy food and an oddly shaped dog that bobs its
head in a quite spooky manner when the car moves. Then we came
home, dropped Angie off at home, came home ourselves, and thus
ended our day-o-fun. Be sure to join us on our next installment
of Galloping Cow, and remember the magic word, "Kellogg's!"

5-19-01
I didn't do a whole lot today, yet somehow I still managed to
keep busy. I got up and did some work on the computer and laid
around for a while because I was so tired. Later in the afternoon,
my dad asked me to go help him replace a leaky faucet outside
the house. One of the pipes cracked over the winter, so he had
to crawl under the house while I pulled the nozzle out from the
outside of the house. The new valve we kept trying to install
refused to stay on, and leaked every time. The solder just wouldn't
stick the pipes together. We tried several times, and then went
to Leonard's for some other parts. Then we came home and tried
again, but to no avail. Luckily he had bought a cap, so he just
cut the pipe and stuck it on. There's no hose out in front of
the house now, but at least we could turn the water back on for
the rest of the house. Some other time we'll go back out and try
to install the new valve again, but tonight we got tired, and
it got too dark outside to do much. My sister is spending the
night at her friend's house, so it's much more peaceful around
here. I think I'll take advantage of it and get some real sleep
tonight.

5-18-01
I got up this morning and went with my dad to Cogswell Motors.
We had a recall on the Mustang's parking break, so we went down
there to drop off the car, and then we came back home. I got ready
for work, and went in at 11:30. After about half an hour, I came
back home and did some more work on my project. Eventually we
got a call saying the Mustang was ready, so I got ready to go
pick it up. About that time, Susi LeMaire called, and we talked
for a couple minutes as I was getting ready. Then we went to get
the car, and I went from there to the high school. I wandered
around for a bit, and then settled down in Mr. Bradley's room
to hang out with my friends in there. After school I wandered
the halls for a bit more, and then took my sister home. Thomas
Hollingsworth and I went around for a bit, and then I took him
home so he wouldn't miss a phone call from Linksys. They'll be
sending us some great hardware for our LAN party/tournament in
June. When I got home from that, I took a shower, and then just
took it easy for the rest of the night. I'm exhausted from everything
that's been going on lately. I called Susi again, and we talked
until she had to leave for church. I want a motorcycle. Someone
buy me one. I'll trade you a kidney.

5-17-01
I woke up around noon today when the doorbell rang. The mail
man brought up a package my dad had ordered, which turned out
to be a Popple stuffed animal for my sister. Just seconds after
the door bell rang, the phone rang. My boss called to check on
where I was with my project for work. I worked for quite a while
on the computer, and after a while went over to the school. I
spent quite a while in the journalism room looking through the
box of pictures they were selling, took a few, and went around
the rest of the school. I stopped by the EAST Lab for a while,
and then went to Mr. Bradley's class to see what they were up
to. After school I gave Jacob Randles a ride home, brought my
sister home, and took Thomas Hollingsworth to his dad's shop.
When I got home, I worked on finishing up my project for work,
but eventually fell asleep.

5-16-01
I got up early this morning and took my sister to school, and
then dropped my mom off at the Wal-Mart parking lot so she could
go to Tunica. We sat there for a while until the bus came. After
she left, I went and tried to wash the car, but the ticket I had
said the code was invalid, so I just went home. Around 10, Brandon
Vaughn asked me to go get him from a friend's house and take him
over to the high school. It wasn't too far out of the way, and
I was about to head that direction anyway, so I ran by work to
get something, and then went and got him. I went and visited a
bunch of people from first lunch. Most people seemed happy to
see me. Rachel Trusty came up from behind and gave me a little
hug, so I went over and talked to her for a while. All of the
sudden Chris Sanderock showed up with a big platter of sandwiches
from Subway. He said he had brought the food for some other people,
but he couldn't find them. He gave Beth Scott a sandwich, so he
now has a new friend for life. His appearance caught Rachel by
surprise, but she was alright after a while. I walked her over
to class, and then wandered around the halls for a while, stopping
by different classrooms. I stayed until the beginning of first
lunch. When I wandered out into the Commons, I got mobbed by one
very affectionate Kerryn Johns, and had my share of hugs for the
day. Then she asked for money. Thomas Hollingsworth was supposed
to go out to lunch with his dad, but he wasn't there yet, so he
decided to come to lunch with me. I was to meet Eric Duerr for
lunch at McDonald's. After we hung out there for a while, Thomas
and I went back to his house to make some calls and get ready
for the big LAN party on June 2nd and 3rd. Eventually it came
time to take him back to 7th period. We got back most of the way
through 6th period. He wandered off somewhere, and I went down
to Mr. Lonon's class to see everyone down there. I tried to play
cards with Rachel and Michelle Young, but they beat me. After
that class finished, I went up to the EAST Lab with Rachel and
asked if I could burn a CD of all the things I had done in there
for the past 3 years. Then I left, because everyone was doing
status reports, and "needed time to think about each question
carefully." I went down to the science department again and
visited both Mr. Bradley's room, and Mr. Payton's room. Everyone
in Bradley's room was watching Jurassic Park, so I stuck around
for some of that. After school, my sister said she mad a meeting
to go to, so I went and hung out with some AP English people that
were making their end-of-the-year video. When she finally got
done, she came out and griped at me for not hurrying up
and taking her to do what she wanted to do. When we left
the building, she pulled the little stunt on me where she had
to go run some errands. I was supposed to give Thomas a ride to
his dad's shop, and was already late for that, so I took him first.
Then I was kind enough to take my sister back to the SunCom
office and to Cooper's Music shop, despite the fact that she didn't
tell me in advance that she had to go. Then we went home, she
whined some more, I ignored some more, and eventually she shut
up and burrowed in her hive of a room. Later that night, my dad
and sister went to church, and then went to drop off a car for
my mom, so they called and said to go pick them up. I went by
work to drop off what I had gotten before, and then went to get
them, and brought them back home. I talked with some friends for
a while after an obviously long day, and eventually got sleepy.
|
|
5-15-01
I slept most of the day, and for most of the time I was awake,
I just laid around the house. I'm getting sick again, and I've
got a horrible cough. Later on, my mom made me go out and help
out with some yard work. After it got a bit late for that, I came
inside and started looking for a motorcycle as a new mode of transportation
to and from college. I've been wanting one for a while, and now
would be the perfect time to have one. I added a short conversation
with Jared Fitzgibbon to the Funny Cud page. I had been meaning
to stick it on there, but just never got around to it. I finally
figured it had been sitting on my desktop as a text file for far
too long, and stuck it on the page. Later that night I talked
to Thomas Hollingsworth and Grant Merrill about the LAN party
Thomas and I have planned. Grant said he could possibly do a remote
KARV broadcast from our event, and perhaps get a bit more publicity.
I think It'd be really cool if we could do something like that,
so we'll see what we can do.

5-14-01
I got up this morning to take my sister to school. After that,
I came back home and slept until later in the afternoon when it
was time for me to get up and get ready for work. I left early
and dropped by the high school to see some people. When I left,
I picked up some PVC pipe that someone had used in a big Frankenstein
model, and had just thrown away. I went to work early to learn
some stuff about my next project. When Dustin Summey got there,
they gave us our graduation gifts. We each got a nice little pen
and pencil set. Sarah Hindsman came along shortly after and got
her pen set. We went over projects and got paychecks, which pretty
much finished up the meeting. On the way out, I talked to Sarah
and Dustin about going out to eat. The three of us decided to
meet at Taco Bell at 7:30, so we all went home. I did some work
on the computer until it was time to go. Dustin showed up at the
exact same time I did, and Sarah never came along, so we just
got some food, sat, and talked for a while. It was good food,
and we had a nice nerdy conversation. After we had sat and talked
for a while, we headed on home. I scanned in a few pictures for
the pictures page. There are three more under Miscellaneous, and
I added a new section for Prom 2001. I'm going to talk to Janine
sometime to see if I can borrow the pictures her mom took of us,
and scan them in as well.

5-13-01
I woke up today when everyone was gathering at my house to get
ready to go. We went to Little Rock to take my uncle back to the
airport for his plane back to Houston. We said our goodbyes, and
then went out shopping. After a bit of shopping, we went out to
eat, and then went shopping again before heading back home. I
didn't do much of anything when I got home. I was just working
on the computer when Susi LeMaire called me up. She said her friend
that was in the wreck last night didn't make it, so we talked
about it for a short while before changing the subject to more
pleasant things. That was my day. I told you I would have a short
log for you soon.
|
|
5-12-01
I didn't wake up this morning. I simply stayed up from last night.
I was talking to Angie Jennings for a bit online, and we decided
to go out to the park to hang out for a while instead of sitting
around the house and getting bored. After that she wanted to drive
by Rachel Trusty's house to see if she was home, and then we stopped
by Jared Fitzgibbon's house to see if they were both there. They
were, so Angie took Rachel out to talk about something, and Jared
and I just sat back and talked for a while. After a short while,
Jared took Rachel home, and Angie and I raced them there before
I dropped Angie off back home and went home myself. Later, I figured
I'd call my old friend Susi LeMaire to see when she got out of
school and when her graduation was. It just so happened to be
tonight, so I told her I'd go see her. I went to Sonic to grab
a bite to eat, and Michelle Young came out to eat with me while
she was on break. As soon as I finished, I had to run off to Hector
for Susi's graduation. Erin Barnhouse happened to be there for
her cousin's graduation, so she came over to see me for a quick
second. After Susi was done at the graduation, she invited me
over to her house, so I went over there and met a bunch of her
family. When we first got back to the house, we learned about
some tragic news. I think three of the kids that were supposed
to be at graduation got into a wreck beforehand, and they thought
one of Susi's friends was dead. Later we learned things weren't
quite that bad, though. We all sat around, talked, and had a pretty
good time. I stuck around for a few hours until people started
going to bed, and then I headed home to get some rest myself.
|
|
5-11-01
For such a big day, not a lot happened. I got up around 3 in
the afternoon and tried to clean up a bit before my family got
here for my graduation. My dad brought my grandparents over, and
then a bit later my uncle from Texas showed up with my aunt that
lives here in town. A short while later, we all went out to New
China to eat. My sister and I left early to go to Tucker Coliseum.
She had to be there early because she was playing in the band,
and I had to be there obviously because I was graduating. The
ceremony wasn't too bad, and it wasn't nearly as boring as I had
feared. I was dead last in going up on stage, which my father
so kindly reminded me of after I mentioned the slightly higher
than average amount of cheering from the crowd as they called
my name. After that was all over with, I went around the coliseum
with some friends. The books they handed out on stage didn't actually
have our diplomas in them, I guess so they could keep them in
case we acted up on stage. Despite being last, I didn't do anything
to make a scene, so I grabbed my diploma, hung out on the floor
for a bit longer, and then went up to my family so they could
take some pictures. After we finished up there, we all went to
the Cracker Barrel for a while. From there, my grandparents, aunt,
and uncle on my dad's side left for home, and the rest of us went
to my aunt's house to get some gifts for me. I left there to go
find some friends. Jeana Rogers had invited me over to a little
gathering over at her house, but it was over by the time I called
her. She said we could go hang out at the park or something though,
so I went over to her house to pick her up. She actually lives
about a block away from my aunt, where I was just before that.
When I got there, she decided to just stay there instead, because
she thought there might be drunks around the park or something.
We went out to her backyard to a little bench swing to talk for
a while, went for a little walk around the block, and just hung
out for a while. After a while she got tired, so I left. I didn't
feel like going home just to sleep or sit on the computer, so
I went driving around for a short while trying to find something
to do. I eventually wandered back home and got on the computer
for a while. It seems like I've written a lot in my logs lately.
I promise I'll have some nice short ones coming up soon.

Today was an incredibly busy day. I got up early and went to
Hardee's to get some breakfast for my sister and myself. Then
I took her to school and went in to take the AP calculus test.
I think it was the most horrible test I have ever taken. Right
now, it just seems like it's all over, and I don't care what I
got. This test won't touch my grades from class. After that, I
went to work for a little while to see what they had for me. When
we finished up there, I went back to school to help with yearbook.
After a while, I decided to run home and get my yearbook so I
could have others sign it. Thomas Hollingsworth was there, so
he decided to come along just for the ride. We went, got it, came
back, and as soon as we walked in the door, Mrs. Heflin said I
had to go get my calculus book and bring it to her by the end
of school or else I wouldn't get my diploma tomorrow. I had to
make another trip home to get my calculus book, as well as my
history which I hadn't turned in yet. At the end of the school
day, a bunch of people stayed around for yearbook signing. Later
that evening, my parents were talking about going to Wal-Mart,
and since I needed some dress shoes for graduation, I went out
to PayLess. Just before I left, Eric Duerr called and said he
and Rachel Trusty were going to meet here so he could lead us
up to his house for his birthday party (Happy birthday, by the
way!). I ran out, told my dad what shoes to get, and ran back
home to see Rachel Trusty parked in my driveway and standing outside
my house. We stood out there for a short while before Eric showed
up, we went so I could get some gas, and then we headed over to
his house. Rachel and I were there early, so the three of us just
hung out at his place. The party was a blast. We played frisbee
and jumped all over the place, and then we had a little fire that
we all gathered around to talk. Eventually, things wound down
and I came home for some rest. Graduation is tomorrow. I suppose
I'll need some rest.

I got up this morning, took my sister to school, came back home,
and went to sleep. I got up later, went out to get something to
eat, and went to school. I wandered around for a while, and then
finally settled down in Mrs. Raines's class for a while. Angie
Jennings came in a bit later, and the three of us talked for a
bit. After that I went down to the journalism room for a while.
There wasn't too much to do in there, so I wandered off for a
while. I actually spent most of seventh period in Mr. Bradley's
class, but he wasn't there. Angie said his wife had twins the
other day, so he's been out all week. After school I walked with
Rachel Trusty out to her car. She was kind enough to slowly roll
over my foot when she pulled away. She stopped on my foot for
a short while, but then rolled off of it. I'm glad she's got a
light car, or else that could have been quite painful. After that
I came home with my sister, and caught Jeff Green giving Eli Knudsen
a ride home. Jeff came back to my house to try and figure out
what was wrong with my TI-89 calculator. We couldn't figure anything
out, so he went on home and I sat around for a while. Later in
the evening, my sister had to go to church, so since Jeff lived
in the same direction, I dropped her off there and went to his
house to work with the calculators some more. He loaded his up
with some programs for me and said I could borrow it. Just as
we finished up, my sister beeped me, so I went to pick her up
and go home. When I got home, I decided to take apart my calculator
to see if I could figure out what the problem was. It turns out
the solder on the plug had broken off, so a connection wasn't
being made. I had my dad solder it back in place, and it worked
perfectly. I loaded a bunch of programs on it, and then it broke
again. Unfortunately, I can't take it apart and solder it again
without clearing the memory, so I'm just going to use Jeff's on
the AP calculus test I have tomorrow. I'm told by those that know
what they're doing, that the AP calculus test is a real kicker.
I want to cry, but there's nothing I can do about it now. I learned
a long time ago that praying for answers to a test rarely works,
especially when it's an important test with a large point value.
Fortunately, this one won't affect my grade in school, but I will
be out over $70 for taking the test.

I woke up several times this morning, mostly from phone calls.
Each time I would just go back to sleep for a while. At one point,
Thomas Hollingsworth called to ask if I had taken some of his
dad's tools the day that we installed my Aiwa car CD player. I
had accidentally taken off with a couple because I was in a rush
to take pictures of a choir concert that night. I eventually woke
up for good, and had to just sit around the house for most of
the day. My mom had a dentist appointment, so she took the van
and I was left without a car. Later in the evening, my sister
made dinner for us all. She did a pretty good job, but of course
I had to pester her about it. After dinner I went out and helped
my parents clean up the yard a bit. When I came back in, Kerryn
Johns wanted me to go help her with some homework. When I got
there, Jeff Green was already there trying to help her with chemistry.
After a short bit of studying, Kerryn had to go to Joanna Jackson's
to clear something up. Jeff, Kerryn, her dad, and I all got into
her car and went to Joanna's house for a while. After they finished
up there, we all went back to Kerryn's house and resumed our studying.
We finished up there, and then I came on home and got ready for
more sleeping-in. I love being out of school.

I got up this morning to take my sister to school. I dropped
her off, came back home, and then went to sleep again. Around
11:00, I went back to the school to hang out for a while. Rachel
Trusty came out during second lunch after she finished her AP
test, gave me a hug and talked for a short while, and then went
on to get some food. I wandered around the halls until second
lunch was over, and then went to the journalism room. Mrs. Little
put me right to work in the darkroom. After I finished up in there,
I went home to do some work, then came back to the school to pick
up my sister. I sat around for a while waiting for her to come
out, but she never did. Joanna Jackson came out and asked for
a ride. Since my sister wasn't around, we just left without her.
I took Joanna home, and then went to work. I need to get my booty
in gear for work, because I've been slacking a bit lately. I came
on home and sat around for a while. My mom and dad called from
my aunt's house and said to get ready to go eat. We went to New
China for dinner before going to the Celebration of Excellence.
My sister had an award for something or other. That night, I did
a lot of massive work for this site. I started from scratch and
made a pretty good looking layout, I think. As of yet, I'm not
sure when it'll be ready to be published.

After a bit of lounging around this morning, I went to the high
school to help with the yearbook staff. When I first got there,
I climbed up into a big truck with Olin Rankin and helped unload
a couple crates of boxes of yearbooks. After that, we went inside
and helped put stickers in of the two people that were left out
of the yearbook somehow. After we finished that up, I went on
home to find out that Jason Huynh was having his graduation party
today. I made him a card really quick, and then my mom and I went
to Old Post Park for the party. On the way out, we passed my dad
and sister coming home from church, so my mom made me take her
back. She decided to go with them so she wouldn't have to put
up with my driving. I had an alright time at the party. I only
knew a very few people there, but Jason and I sat and talked about
nerdy crap for a while. My dad and sister left earlier than my
mom was ready to go, so I waited around for her and took her home
later. Jared Fitzgibbon came over later in the evening to take
a peek at this year's yearbook. We sat and talked for a little
while, and then he went on home. I can feel the boredom of summer
vacation already starting to kick in.

I woke up this morning when Thomas Hollingsworth called. He wanted
to go to Conway to meet a guy from Little Rock that came to one
of the big LAN parties here in town. I was getting ready to go
when my dad brought in the mail. I got my new glasses. They're
a lot smaller than I had thought. The lenses are a lot smaller
from top to bottom. I took my dad to pick up the other car from
the Wal-Mart parking lot, went out to pick up Thomas, and headed
on to Conway. We got to listen to several songs along the way.
Our trip was slowed down a bit by all the construction going on,
but it was fun. We met the guy at a gas station right by the highway
exit, and then went to Hardee's to sit and talk. We talked for
several hours about all sorts of things. We got some good ideas
from him about how to run the LAN parties, because his group has
had a bit more experience with it. He eventually had to split,
so Thomas and I headed home as well. I took him home, and then
stopped by Rachel Trusty's house to see what she was up to. Her
mom said she was just out of the shower, so I headed on over to
PDQ to get some gas and see Kerryn Johns at work. We talked for
a little while, and then I came home. There, I did a bunch of
stuff for work, watched a movie, and now I'm heading to bed.

Today was my final run at high school. I got up, got ready, and
came on to school. I went on through classes just as usual, except
this time slightly more casually than usual. Things have really
wound down now that the seniors are gone. The only semester test
I'm going to take is for history. I should be fine in there. A
bunch of seniors just left at lunch, but I still had classes to
go to all day. Mrs. Little made me go out to the back of the school
and take pictures of a track meet going on, but nobody was doing
anything, so I didn't take any pictures out there. After I came
back in, I wandered the halls for a while. I stopped by the art
room 5th period, and then went up to the EAST Lab during 6th period.
Mr. Lonon was giving a test, so I couldn't be in there. After
school I came on home and rested for a while because I was so
exhausted. Around 6:30, it was time for me to go to David Benefield's
surprise birthday party. I printed him out a card, slapped some
money in it, and took off. We ate at New China, went to the park
to hang out with everyone, and then I left to meet Eric Duerr
and Rachel Trusty at the choir concert. Her mom said she couldn't
go hang out with us, so she went back to the little birthday party
she was previously at, and Eric and I went around to hang out
for the night. We wandered all around town trying to find things
to do. I eventually just got bored of it and wanted to come home,
so I dropped him off by his truck and came on home to rest.

Not much happened at school today. About the only thing different
that happened was instead of going to calculus for second period,
we all went to the gym to sit. The geometry classes were having
an exit exam so they could pass on to the next year, so people
in any other math classes went to the gym and just sat around.
During 5th period, Mrs. Little got the Quill and Scroll people
outside to take a picture. After that, I wandered over to the
art room to hang out with Jared Fitzgibbon and Rachel Trusty.
When that class ended, I just followed Rachel on over to Mr. Lonon's
class. He wasn't there today, so I got to stay for most of the
period. I eventually went back to the journalism room to talk
to Thomas Hollingsworth. After school I had a little squabble
with my sister because she was being extremely slow when I had
things I needed to do. I took her home, and then Thomas and I
went around town. We stopped by Sonic to get a couple drinks,
went to his dad's store so he could tell him we'd be out doing
stuff, and then we went to Wal-Mart to pick up a wiring harness
for my new Aiwa CDC-MP3 car player. After that, we went on up
to his house to get the player and install it in the car. It took
a few hours, but we eventually got the thing in and working. We
made a bit of a mess with wires all over the place, but most everything
is cleaned up now. Then I left his house to go take pictures of
the high school's choir Spring Sing at the junior high. After
the show, I stayed around for just a few minutes to hang out with
Rachel. When I got home, my dad came out to see the new CD player
in the car. He wasn't expecting it, and he didn't really like
it at first, but it's a nice system. He'll learn to like it. My
mom bit my head off for it, though. She griped at me for spending
so much money and then sticking it in the car without asking.
Everything seems to be alright about it now, though. It's a nice
little player. I couldn't be happier at the moment. I'm ready
for my last day of school tomorrow.

It's been a strange week so far. Monday, it seemed like everyone
was depressed. Then on Tuesday, everyone was pissed. Today, it
seemed like everyone was in a good mood. Most of the day was uneventful
though. My sister wanted to go out for breakfast before we headed
to school, so we went to Sonic to grab some food. When we got
to school, I just kind of laid around all day. I went to the darkroom
for a short while, but I didn't do a whole bunch. After school
I came home and worked on my computer. I finally got around to
changing the cow in the corner. Graduation is next week, so I
stuck a little graduation cap on her. Janine Randles came online,
so we talked for a short while before she had to leave again.
Later on, Thomas Hollingsworth called to talk about the Damage
Gaming LAN party in June. It should be a big, fun event.

5-1-01
I'm completely, totally, and utterly exhausted. I got up this
morning, went to classes, went to lunch, went to more classes,
and wished for sleep. I hardly did anything worth mentioning,
yet I'm tired enough that I could probably sleep through the remainder
of the week. First period I got called to the office because I
was counted absent Friday of last week while I was gone to 5th
grade camp. I had to sit in the "holding cell" for a
while until Mr. Matlock had time to see me. I wandered around
with my own camera for a bit, taking pictures of friends and stuff.
After school I went to work for a meeting, and then came home
to study. The band's appreciation concert was tonight, but I had
too much other crap to worry about. I really hate school, but
it doesn't seem to matter any more. It's almost all over, but
then I'm sure college will make high school feel like a playground
full of fun swings and slides to play on. It must be a general
rule that life just sucks. I ordered another pair of sunglasses
because my other pair was swiped. I meant to change the cow in
the corner and all, but I didn't really have time. Looks like
you're all stuck with it for another day.
