Most of today kind of sucked, but it did have a couple high points.
I got called out of the end of first period for a Quill and Scroll
awards ceremony. I got an award for something or other. The awards
weren't even there, so I was given a piece of paper that was printed
out earlier in the morning, saying congratulations on my achievement.
When I got to the EAST Lab during third period, I got on one of
the computers and changed the "Start" button to say
"Stop." So far I don't know of anybody that's noticed
it. Later after school I asked Rachel Trusty, who works on that
computer, if she noticed it, and she said she didn't. During fourth
period, I was working along diligently until the FemiNazi, Jessica
Sardashti, came and smeared some horrid smelling hand lotion all
over the front of my binder. Of course I got mad, but Lemley did
nothing. Around lunch time, I realized I didn't have my sunglasses
with me. I know I lost them somewhere between first and second
period. I don't remember if they were even there when I got back
to first period from the Quill and Scroll thing. Whatever happened,
I don't remember picking them up, so either someone took them
first period, or someone in the next class grabbed them. After
lunch, somehow Mike Kelley, Janine Randles, and I got to talking
about relationships. Somewhere along the way, Janine said if I
wanted a girl then maybe I should lower my standards. Just before
that she said she didn't mean it to be offensive, but I still
should have turned right around and said something like, "I
went to prom with *YOU,* didn't I?" I didn't actually say
it, but I told her I could have smacked her with that comeback.
She gave me that look she gives when she knows she's just been
beaten, but it was all in fun. I don't hold anything against her.
Later on, Thomas Hollingsworth came down to the journalism room
and helped sort senior class pictures. After that I went to talk
to Rachel Trusty for a bit, but she wasn't feeling too well. I
stuck around until the end of that period to talk to Michelle
Young. After school I wandered on home in the bright sun without
my nice little sunglasses. I did some little stuff for work, and
then just played around on the computer for a while. My dad and
sister went to Wal-Mart to drop off a car for my mom, returning
from Tunica tonight. They were to call me later to go pick them
up and bring them home since they would be leaving the van for
my mom. While I was sitting around the house, I decided to try
and call Susi LeMaire. I got her this time, so we sat and talked
for a little while. Eventually my sister called, so I went to
pick them up, and then came home for the night.

I had a fairly slow day today. I got up, showered, and played
on the computer for most of the day. I took a couple little naps
because I was still tired from everything yesterday. In the early
evening, I was talking to Angie Jennings about a little puppy,
Booboo, she had just gotten. Both of us were pretty bored sitting
around the house all day, so she invited me over to see the new
pup and to talk for a while. We discussed the meaning of life
while trying to get shy, little Booboo to open up to us. After
a while he seemed to like us both a lot more. After that, I dropped
by Sonic to see who was working, and to get something to munch
on. Michelle Young was there, so I talked to her for a few seconds
as she brought out my food. She asked me to come back around closing
time so we could talk more, but I had too much other stuff to
work on from missing two days of school last week. I headed on
home and worked on stuff there for the rest of the night.

Today was pretty fun. I woke up and talked to Thomas Hollingsworth
for a bit. He wanted to go to Little Rock for a LAN party by the
guys that came to the Mental Degauss party last time. I thought
about going, but my dad wasn't crazy about the idea, and I was
still pretty exhausted from 5th grade camp. Mr. Murdock called
me needing some help with his web site, so I went to the high
school to help him out. Chris Sanderock met me there, so we talked
for a little while. When we finished up there, Chris and I went
to see Rachel Trusty at the little junk shop she was working at.
There were some pretty interesting things in there. After a short
while, Chris and I decided to head on over to the Mental Degauss
LAN party in town. I stayed for a short while before deciding
to go and get my computer. I didn't even stick around for too
long to play. I ran around and did other stuff most of the time.
I went with Jon Robison to order and pick up food from Whatta-Burger.
Later I went to see Rachel at home, so we went out to her back
porch to sit and talk for a while. I decided to leave when Jimmy
Bowie showed up to help her with her geometry homework. I went
to pick up my computer, and then stopped by Angie Jennings's house
on the way back to the party. She had left me a message on MSN
while I was gone, so I figured I'd go see what she was up to and
if she wanted to go to the party with me. She did, so she hopped
in the car and we headed on over. I came home again one time to
eat dinner. Later in the night, Nikki and Robin Barr popped in
because Eric Moore was there. Nikki and Eric got together and
talked for a while, so Robin came over to talk to me. I hadn't
talked to her in quite a while, so it was good to see her. When
Nikki and Eric were ready to leave, they said they had to head
on home, but had to stop by Hastings for a quick second first.
Nikki and Eric each drove their own cars out there, and Robin
rode with me in my car. We drove on out to Hastings and had a
nice long talk while we waited for them to get there. When they
finally did, Robin went with them and I headed on back to the
LAN party. When I got there, people were already packing up to
leave, so I did the same, and then helped the guys clean the place
up. From there, I headed on home to catch up on past daily logs
on GC. I'm finally done.
Nay from Mija.nu
had yet another brand new layout done, so I sent her a little
message as usual. This time she actually replied! I'm going to
assume that, if she ever decided to take a look at my site, she
got bored and didn't read to the end of any of my logs, thus making
it obvious that she won't read this little blurb about her at
the bottom of today's log. I don't care though, this chick ROCKS!

4-27-01 (Written 4-28-01 : 5th Grade Camp)
I woke up shivering because it had gotten so cold over the course
of the night. It didn't take too long to warm back up, though.
It seems it was always either too hot or too cold. It was finally
our day to do all the fun things, like horseback riding, hawk
eye BB gun shooting, and canoeing. The previous day was pretty
much a bunch of quiet stuff of little entertainment value. I'm
afraid I can't consider ironing beads into little shapes to be
"arts and crafts." It was fun, however, and I made a
little GC logo for Galloping Cow. The whole thing is green, but
when the light catches it just right, the letters "GC"
glow brightly in the middle. Ben Nordin and I tried to go canoeing,
but it turns out the thing had been sitting on too steep of a
rise out of the water, so the thing tipped right as we were being
shoved into the water. Ben was in back, so he got completely soaked,
while only the right half of my body got soaked. I stayed with
the kids while Ben went to shower and change clothes. At one point
in the day, Jason Huynh came up to me and said that not only my
cabin had been cheering "Galloping Cow! Galloping Cow! Moo!
Moo! Moo!" Apparently the chant had spread throughout the
entire camp, and a bunch of the kids were saying it. At our last
chance for roll call and a chant, one cabin got together and yelled
"JasonHuynh.com!" Of course, Jason stood up and rooted
for himself. He had no idea the other cabin was going to do anything
like that. At the end of the day, we had our last meal, and then
packed up to get ready to leave. Then we finished everything up,
climbed back up the hill where we first met our kids, and sat
around for a while until the busses got there. One was already
waiting, so after waiting for quite a while, Mr. Richie, the 5th
grade principal, sent the boys home early. Quite a while later,
the other two busses arrived to take the girls and the counselors
home. We all grabbed our things and loaded the bus. I was the
last one on, after helping shove everyone's things into the bus.
When I climbed on, nobody wanted to let me have a place to sit,
so I found a seat people had put a bunch of luggage into, stacked
the stuff up against the wall, and just sat there for the trip
home. When we finally got home, I drove by Rachel Trusty's house
to see if she was home. Not seeing her car, I came on home, got
on the computer for a while, and then went to sleep.

4-26-01 (Written 4-28-01 : 5th Grade Camp)
I got up early to pack for my trip to 5th grade camp. I was supposed
to meet some guys for breakfast at Stoby's, but I didn't have
enough time to go have a nice meal. Instead, my mom stopped by
Hardee's so I could grab a quick bite there. The counselors all
got on the bus and headed to Camp Ozark. The trip up there was
alright. I got a nice big seat to myself, listened to my music,
and just sat back and relaxed. We had a short while to settle
in, and then we all wandered up one of many hills where we were
to meet our 5th grade campers. Ben Nordin, my bunk mate, and I
had 8 guys in our cabin. We walked up and down hills to different
activities all day. We were cabin 5, or the Quapaw Native American
tribe. We tried to make a few small chants so we could go to eat
first, but before every meal Mr. Pointer got up and drew cabin
names for who got to go first. It wasn't a competition like it
was when I went to camp. Our simple chant soon settled down to
be, "Galloping Cow! Galloping Cow! Moo! Moo! Moo!" I
thought it was kind of neat having a little herd of calves, or
cowlets, or whatever they should be known as. Jason Huynh had
to explain to people that Galloping Cow was the name of my web
site, and Mr. Pointer teasingly said we should be punished for
shameless exploitation of small children to promote my site. The
kids seemed to like it, though. At the end of the day, we all
went back to our cabin and went to sleep. It was nice and warm
at first, but later in the night, I woke up shivering. I still
don't think it's fair that the girls have heated and cooled cabins
with bathrooms in each room, as opposed to the open air cabins
and big bathhouse that the guys have.

Today's been peachy for the most part. Everything was pretty
slow until lunch time when Mrs. Little took everyone out to New
China to eat. We had quite a bit of fun. I hitched a ride with
Ryan Bills and Janine Randles. After that we went back to school.
Carrie Harris went to get Rachel Trusty from Mr. Lonon's class
so she could draw us a little MTV logo for something or other.
I think she needed a smaller version of the junior follies logo
they had with the MTV theme. After school I stopped by work for
a short while, and then went home. Thomas Hollingsworth and I
talked for a little while about tournament things, and then Chris
Sanderock called before we went to go hang out. We sat and talked
on the phone for quite a while before we actually went out, but
when we did, we went all over town. We stopped by the coffee shop,
Wal-Mart, and Hastings. When I finally got home, I finished up
some stuff for work, tuned into KXRJ
at ATU to listen to Matt Farrar and Jared Magee's radio show.
I got an E-Mail from Erika with a "K" informing me of
my spelling mistake in yesterday's log, so random apologetic words
may be inserted here at the reader's discretion. I won't be around
until Friday night, because I'm a counselor at 5th grade camp.
Apparently they still don't have internet out there, so I couldn't
just bring a laptop and work on my site from there. Things should
be fun.

I wound up having a fairly decent day today. Not a whole lot
happened, but everything seemed peachy for most of the day. I
went to the darkroom for a couple hours to develop some more film
and make more prints. At first it was just Brandon Vaughn and
me. Then a little while into 6th period I tried to get Rachel
Trusty to come to the darkroom to see all the stuff we have to
do in the dark. Mr. Lonon didn't like how it would look for a
guy and girl to go into the darkroom, although it had never been
a problem before. She decided to go to the EAST Lab, but Jeff
Green came down to the darkroom to check it out. Thomas Hollingsworth
was also down there, as usual. I went to see what Rachel was up
to 7th period in the EAST Lab, walked her to her car when school
was over, and then came home myself with Thomas and Erica. Thomas
filled the rest of my gas tank up on the way home, I dropped Erika
off at Shadow Lake Apartments, dropped my sister off at home,
dropped Thomas off at his dad's office, and then went to work
for a couple hours. When I got home, I talked for Rachel a bit
online before she decided she wanted to talk on the phone, so
I called her up. We talked about everything from the meaning of
life, to mastication, to little bunnies, to programming in QBasic.
Now I feel like it's really late because I'm so exhausted.

Today wasn't nearly as bad as it could have been. Staying awake
Saturday and Sunday, and then sleeping Sunday night before school
actually worked for me. I didn't have much of a problem getting
up or staying awake during those most boring moments in history.
Nothing really happened during most of the day. I spent a couple
hours in the darkroom developing film and making prints. Brandon
Vaughn was down there for one period, I took a break between periods
and went to talk to Rachel Trusty in Mr. Lonon's class, and then
I went back to the darkroom for another hour with Thomas Hollingsworth
to make some more prints. After school I talked with Janine Randles
for a bit as she waited for her mom to come pick her up from school.
Then I took my sister home, gave Thomas a ride to his dad's office,
and then went to work to pick up a check and see if I had anything
new to do. When I got home from there, my dad and I went to drop
off my tux, stopped by Kroger for some milk, and then came home.
I didn't have anything to do for work, so I just took it easy
and watched TV for most of the night.

I didn't go straight home when after prom was over. My date had
left me for some friends earlier, so I got to go alone. I thought
about stopping by the park just to chill for a while and relax
from all the activities, but I really didn't just want to go by
myself. I decided to go on over to Rachel Trusty's house to see
if by any chance she would still be awake. She wasn't, but since
it was so early in the morning I decided to wait around to see
if I could catch her when she woke up. Quite a while later, her
parents woke up and milled around the kitchen for a while. I kept
waiting outside, but I couldn't see any sign of her being up,
so I eventually decided to go home. When I got home, I left her
a message asking her to call me when she woke up. I just laid
around for a while, not wanting to go to sleep and screw up my
sleep schedule. Thomas Hollingsworth called me just as I had started
to dose off a little, so we talked for a short while. Then later
on, Rachel called and we talked for a while. She said Chris Sanderock
had left a note on her car and that they were going to go to the
park to talk for a while later. I didn't really do anything all
day, but later in the evening I got hungry and bored. Rachel and
I went driving around for a while to talk about things, and then
we stopped by Sonic for a quick bite. By then, we didn't have
much longer before she had to be back home, so I took her home
and went back to Sonic to talk to Michelle Young for a while.
I was going to wait around until she got off of work, but I saw
the manager on duty say something about me needing to leave, so
I left before anyone actually came out to say anything to me.
When I got home, my dad told me Thomas had called again, so I
called him back and we talked for a while, and then played some
Tribes 2 with several celebrity names, such as Bob Dole and Bill
Gates. I couldn't believe we had so many of those famous names
registered and playing on the same server. Now, after staying
awake for most of two days, I'm ready for a nap before I have
to go to school again tomorrow.

4-21-01
I woke up this morning and played around for a bit. Then I went
to pick up the corsage I had ordered for Janine Randles, my prom
date. I took it home and then went to Wal-Mart because my dad
and sister needed some stuff. My sister didn't want to go home
right after that, so they took the van which was already at the
Wal-Mart parking lot, and I started heading on home. I thought
about stopping by Rachel Trusty's house instead of going straight
home, because I had been talking to her earlier in the day. Instead,
I saw her pull out into the street and drove up next to her. We
pulled over to talk for a bit, as it's hard to yell from window
to window going down Main Street. It turns out she was thinking
about stopping by my house, which would have been funny when we
both arrived at the other's house at the same time. We went to
her house, dropped off her car, and then drove around while we
talked for a while. Then we came back to my house to hang out
for a little while. After a bit her mom called her cell and told
her to come home to get ready for prom. I took her home and then
came back home for a while. The time finally rolled around for
me to get ready for prom, so I showered, got dressed, got my picture
taken, and then went to pick up Janine. She loved the corsage,
thought I looked spiffy, and thought the glasses really set off
the whole outfit. Her mom took a few pictures of us, and then
we came back to my house to get our pictures taken there. Then
we were off to Nikki Holbrook's house for a little pizza party
with some others. Then we all went to the dance together. I had
forgotten to grab some more money, so I didn't have enough to
have our pictures taken there. We danced around for a bit, but
for the most part I just kind of wandered around from friend to
friend as they arrived. Two particular people actually came up
to me to dance for a bit, besides Janine. First it was Rachel
Trusty. We boogied a little, and then a while later Jeana Rogers
came by for a dance. I lost Janine for quite a while, and she
eventually came and found me when she was ready to go. On the
way home we stopped by Sequoyah Park to talk for a bit and just
relax in the quiet. Then it was on back to my house to change
clothes and get ready for after-prom. We went back to Nikki's
house, and met everyone there. Nikki's boyfriend, Bryan, had gotten
them a limo, so they took that home and then took everyone out
for a ride. Janine and I just drove back ourselves. After a short
while, she left me to go hang out with her friends, and eventually
I guess she decided to go leave with some friends and not tell
me about it, so I came home alone. I won a microwave in a drawing,
and the guy that won the PlayStation 2 sold it on the spot for
$200. I wasn't in the mood for such uselessness as a microwave,
or such stupidity as underpricing a PlayStation 2 by 100 bucks.
That should be enough reading to keep you busy for a while.

4-20-01
Most of my classes took it easy today because this weekend is
prom, and everyone will be tired when we have to go back to school
on Monday. I got out of the end of calculus, and part of the beginning
of third period EAST Lab to go out in front of the building and
have my picture taken with the other people that got awards from
the journalism convention last week. I got an excellent rating
on something or other, so I got a little slip of paper with my
name on it. Janine Randles was back at school again, feeling a
bit better from her sickness this week. I was rather mad though,
because someone stole her after-prom T-shirt yesterday while I
was in the darkroom. I spent another hour in there today doing
some work, and then went and wandered around for a bit. I went
to Mr. Lonon's class for a bit, and then wandered on back through
the science halls. I saw Cassie Hilgerson in a back room working
on some chemistry, so I stayed with her for the rest of the period
and we talked about random little things. After school I came
home and checked the mail. I got my sunglasses in that I had ordered.
They could be a bit darker, but I still think they rock. The delivery
was quick, and the product is spiffy. After I did some stuff for
work, I went with my dad to get a corsage for Janine tomorrow
night. The flower shop we stopped by was closed, so we stopped
by Kroger really quickly to see what they had, and then came home.
My dad called another place, and I ordered one right over the
phone. Eventually my sister decided to tell me that Janine had
called, but each time I tried to call her back, she was gone.
I got some graduation notices ready to be mailed off tomorrow,
and spent most of the rest of the night just sitting around. Now
I need some sleep before my "oh-so-special, big day"
tomorrow. I can feel the excitement building up inside, or maybe
I'm just hungry.

4-19-01
I'm exhausted all day today. I even got a fair amount of sleep
last night. Nothing too exciting happened. Classes dragged on
all morning until lunch. After that I went and did a lot more
work in the darkroom. I got a couple after-prom T-shirts, and
set them on top of my backpack before I went back to the darkroom
one time, and when I came back one was on the floor and the other
was missing. I'll have to find it tomorrow, or I'll be somewhat
angry. The missing one was the one I got for Janine. I went to
Mr. Lonon's for a little while, but spent most of the time in
the darkroom. After school I went on home for a little while,
took my sister out to eat and then to her band contest thing,
and then came back home again. My mom, dad, and I left immediately
to go pick up my prom tux for a fitting and all that wonderful
crap. The whole outfit came with more hangers than I have all
throughout my entire closet. After I got everything squared away
there, I came home to work on a bunch of homework. I'm quite annoyed
with school at the moment, but it's almost over. I called Janine
Randles to talk for a short while. She hasn't been to school since
Monday, and we let out on Monday because the power was out, so
I hadn't seen or spoken to her since last week during the journalism
convention. I don't feel like I should be tired, but my body keeps
trying to shut down on me. I guess that means it's time for bed.

4-18-01
It seems I've been quite confused. I thought fifth grade camp
was going to be this week, so I've been telling everyone that
I was going to be gone on Thursday and Friday of this week. It
turns out that my camp really goes next week, so I was a week
off. I had a meeting about it during lunch. After lunch I had
to go to the darkroom to make some prints, so I spent a couple
hours down there. Thomas Hollingsworth came down 6th period to
talk while I made more prints. After school I gave him a ride
to his dad's office, and then went home for a little while before
heading out to take pictures of a baseball game. Later in the
evening, I went out to celebrate my old friend Susi LeMaire's
birthday. I didn't spend too much time out there before coming
back home to rest. Now I need sleep.

|
4-17-01
I'm physically and mentally exhausted today, and the school week
has only just begun. I wandered around a bit at lunch, but only
for a little while after eating at the table with my friends as
usual. I went to the darkroom for a little while to keep myself
a bit busy for the period. I spent a few minutes at the beginning
of 6th period in Mr. Lonon's class talking to Rachel Trusty a
bit, and then went back to the journalism room to hang out with
Brandon Vaughn, Thomas Hollingsworth, and Ali Lampert. After school,
my mom took me to the bank to get a free gift from when I opened
my account and they didn't give me anything. I got a cool little
folding chair thing. It should come in handy the next time I'm
walking down the halls of the high school and just decide I want
to stop dead in my tracks, sit down, and relax a bit like everyone
else does. Then I went to work for our staff meeting. I got a
new little project to work on, and hopefully I'll have time to
work on it and finish it up within the next day or so. When I
got home, I had to lay back for a bit to rest. My dad bought a
new lawnmower, and I ordered a pair of sunglasses. I guess now
I'll be able to mow the lawn in style. Then I tried to sit back
and do some studying, but all I could accomplish was sleep. I
think my body is trying to tell me something, but it's nothing
a nice dose of Bawls can't cure. I can't wait until they come
out with the concentrated stuff to take intravenously.

4-16-01
Today was somewhat exciting, yet boring at the same time. When
I got to school, half of the lights were out or flickering. I
half expected a tongue hanging down from the ceiling like in Half-Life.
The atmosphere was great. The classrooms seemed alright, but we
didn't seem to have any power to the intercom or bell system.
Most of the way through first period, the teachers got a memo
saying that in order to try and get the power back up, it would
have to temporarily be completely shut off. They herded everyone
in the school out to the bleachers by the football field for another
hour or so. At 9:45, Mr. Lemley came by right where I was sitting
and announced that at 10:00, if we had a car, we could leave.
It was a pain getting out though, because you couldn't take passengers,
and you had to actually show someone your car keys before you
could go. I waited around for Rachel Trusty because she had left
her bag and keys in her classroom. When Mrs. Freeman finally returned
with them, we all walked out to the parking lot. She didn't want
to hang out with me, so I wandered across the school to my car,
took my sister to her friend's house, and then went home. After
a few hours, I went to Thomas Hollingsworth's house to hang out
for a bit. Then I came back into town to stop by work for a bit,
and not needing to do anything there, came back home again. I
sat around for a bit longer until I got hungry, and then went
to Sonic and talked to Chris Sanderock for quite a while. We flew
by K-Mart really quick to see if they had any PlayStation 2s left,
and they actually had quite a few under the counter. I talked
him into getting one, so we all walked out happy, one with considerably
less cash than before. I came home and decided I don't like banks
that close at 4:00 on normal weekdays. When I have money, I'm
going to either stuff it into a big mattress, or stick it into
an online bank or somewhere that I can get to it any time I want.
I finally went to get my graduation crap. Now I sleep.

4-15-01
Happy Easter everyone! I got up this morning and immediately
had to get ready to go to my grandparents' house. My grandma's
been sick with bronchitis for a while, so my dad decided to go
up there and surprise her with a big Easter dinner. I think my
dad got called out to work early in the morning, or something
like that, so we were a bit late. We had a good dinner up there
with my grandparents, aunt, and uncle. On the way home, we came
through some thick traffic on the interstate. For no apparent
reason, everyone had decided to drive in the left lane only, so
traffic had slowed down to a crawl as people attempted to merge
into the one lane. It was a few miles before the road actually
got blocked off for construction. We stopped by K-Mart to get
some things, and while I was waiting for my parents to check out,
I noticed several PlayStation 2 boxes behind the counter. I don't
know if they were for sale or had finally arrived from some previous
order, but I saw Michael Jennings working another line. I'll be
able to ask him about them tomorrow. After that, we stopped by
Price Chopper, and we went through Bryan Bramlett's checkout counter.
His new computer is arriving, piece by piece, so hopefully he'll
be up and online really soon. After that, we came home and I got
to work on my calculus. It wasn't too difficult, so I got it done
pretty quickly. Having to go back to school tomorrow is going
to suck.

4-14-01
I actually got a couple things done today. My dad and I went
to get my tux ordered for prom. Later in the day, I finally got
the stupid leprechaun off of this page. It's about bloody time
I had something up there for Easter this month. This time, our
beloved cow in the corner has taken the liberty of hiding us some
Easter eggs to hunt. I always knew rabbits didn't lay eggs. The
cows do all the work, but the rabbits get all the credit! Later
in the evening, my dad, sister, and I went out to eat, did a little
Wal-Mart shopping, and then stopped by Hastings to rent a movie.
We got Blazing Saddles since I had never seen it before. I found
it quite entertaining, and would recommend this movie to any Amish
people, if it weren't for that whole "purified society"
they're shooting for. Thomas Hollingsworth called to say hi, and
to talk for a bit. That was the extent of my day, how
about yours?

Today was just as tiring as yesterday. I got up around 8:00 or
so to get ready for some work group things. I wandered the halls
of the hotel for a bit, and then headed on over to the Excelsior
for the lectures. The first lecture was about using comedy in
broadcasting media. The guy showed some pretty funny skits and
things that some of his students had made before. The next lecture
I attended was supposedly about the show Survivor. The lady tricked
us into going in there, tripped over someone sitting on the floor,
and then went on for a while about how she didn't like her job.
After that, we had an award ceremony for something or other. After
that, we all left to get our bags from our rooms, check out, and
then pack everything back onto the bus. Nobody wanted to sit with
me on the ride home, so I got the whole seat to myself. Cassie
Hilgerson sat silently by me for a minute or so until her other
friends further back in the bus called her and said they had found
a place for her to sit. When I got home, I decided to hang around
the school until my sister got out so I could take her home, but
my parents met us there anyway. We all went to go order a tux
for my prom, but I didn't feel like looking through the stupid
magazine at the time. I grabbed the magazine and headed home.
When I was back in school, Rachel Williams invited me to a little
gathering at her house. Thomas Hollingsworth called me at home
and invited me to go hang out at his house, but sadly I felt too
tired to drive way out through no-man's land to get to his place
up on the mountain. Rachel happened to live fairly close by, so
I wound up going to her place to hang out for a while. I had quite
a bit of fun there, and then came home and dropped dead for a
while. This must be what a Bawls hangover feels like.

Today was the start of the journalism convention in Little Rock.
The trip there was alright. When we got there, a group of us took
a tour through channel 7 KATV's studios. It was fairly interesting,
and then we swapped with the other group and went on to the River
Market to eat. When the actual convention started, I had to go
with a bunch of other "beginning photographers" for
an on-site competition. They sent us all out into the hot sun
to take pictures of the construction on the Excelsior's hotel
and convention center. Later in the evening, we went to a fancy
dinner banquet. I actually had good clothes to wear, the food
was good, and I knew which of the 32 different forks to start
eating with first. It was fairly fun. After that there was a dance,
but not many people were there when I got there. Everyone went
to change, and then came back later. I didn't stick around there
too long before heading back to the hotel though. We stayed in
the Double Tree hotel just a block away. I spent most of the time
wandering around by myself, but every now and then I latched onto
a friend or two like a bloodsucking leech, and followed them around
for a while. Rachel Trusty was up later than she had ever been
up before. She and Jared Fitzgibbon were hanging out in his room
with some other friends to watch TV and stuff, and she eventually
came down to her room around midnight. She finally went to bed
around 1 in the morning when Mrs. Raines and Mrs. Cooper came
by to tell us all to get to our rooms because it was our curfew.
I went back to my room for a while before I got bored again, so
I wandered over to another room where Olin Rankin and Matt Duffield
were still awake. I hung out with them for half an hour or so
before I got too cold in their room and decided to head back to
mine. I eventually wound up going to bed around 3:00 because there
wasn't anything better to do.

I had a bit of fun today. I had to take my sister to school at
7:15 today for some honor society meeting she had to go to. I
should have left the house around 10 minutes late like she's made
us do for the past two days. I saw Dustin Olson there, so we talked
for a while until all the sane people showed up for school around
15 minutes later. I thought up a nice little scheme against the
sophomores this year. It will be fun for us all, I think. More
details will follow. We had an assembly for after-prom, put on
by the parents of students, in the morning. A bunch of guys were
dressed up like the Blue Man group featured in the recent Pentium
commercials on TV. A bunch of parents got out there and had a
blast mocking us and the school system we've been forced to conform
to. The dark cloud was lifted from the senior class as the spirit
stick was returned to the principal. I was rather hoping the thing
had actually been destroyed, as it was rumored. I went to another
5th grade camp meeting during lunch. After that I went and spent
an hour or so in the darkroom developing some film. When 6th period
rolled around, Ali Lampert and Thomas Hollingsworth came down
to the darkroom to visit with Brandon Vaughn and me for a while.
After school I went by work to pick up a check, and then headed
home. I was doing some work for them when Janine Randles called.
We decided to go hang out for a bit since it's a school night
and we don't have to go to school tomorrow. I went to her house
for a while, and then we went to her dad's house to pick up something
for yearbook. All of the journalism classes are going to a convention
in Little Rock tomorrow morning, and won't return until Friday
afternoon. I'm somewhat excited. School trips are fun, and this
time there's an added bonus. The handrails on the stairs in the
Excelsior's convention center are fun to slide down. I tried my
best to get a laptop to bring along with me, but that fell through.
One can now assume that, unless someone gives or loans me a laptop
within the next 6 hours, this page won't be updated until Friday
afternoon or evening. Yes, my faithful followers, you must go
on for a whole 24 hours without an update to this site. I will,
however, leave you with this
wonderful parting gift.

Today was alright, but somehow exhausting. It was my mom's birthday
today, so a nice big "HAPPY BIRTHDAY" to you mom! We
left for school around 10 minutes late again thanks to my sister.
Nothing exciting happened all morning, but after lunch I ran around
the school being stupid. I climbed up on top of a Coke machine
and sat up there a few times, wandered through the halls, stopped
by Mr. Lonon and Mr. Payton's classes to see people, and went
to the EAST Lab with Rachel Trusty to see her latest render of
the mushroom's life cycle, or something like that. It was pretty
cool. After school I stopped by work for a bit with Sarah Hindsman
and Dustin Summey for a little staff meeting. When I got home
from that, my dad had to go back to work for something, so we
didn't go out to eat for my mom's birthday as we usually wind
up doing. Janine Randles called me, being a rather excited about
prom and whatnot. She got a haircut, and she thinks she's found
a dress. I don't know if I'm going to rent a tux or what, but
I guess I need to decide fairly quickly, seeing as how prom is
next week. Janine said not to get a tux with tails because she
thinks they look dumb. After I got off the phone with her, I played
on my computer a bit and then tried to watch a movie, but I wound
up sleeping though most of it. I was so exhausted, as I am now,
so I suppose now would be a good time to sleep.

I nearly had to kick my sister out the door this morning before
school. We left the house around 10 or 15 minutes late, but I
made it to school in plenty of time. My calculus test was death
all wrapped up in a nice packet of papers all stapled together.
I went back later to finish it. I think I at least passed it.
After school I stopped by work for a few minutes to get my latest
projects. Right after I finished up there, I went to the softball
game to take pictures for yearbook. When I got home, I played
Black and White for quite a while, just having a blast. Pretending
to be a god sure does wear a person out!

I got up today after about five and a half hours of sleep, and
got ready to go to Fort Smith for my dad's magic club meeting.
He went to drop the van off at my aunt's house, and then my sister
and I went to pick him up and head on out to Fort Smith. The meeting
was in the new library there, which seemed more like a huge convention
center or something. After that we went to the mall to do a bit
of shopping, and then went to The Olive Garden to eat with some
of the others that were at the magic club meeting. I had never
eaten there before, so it was pretty interesting. They didn't
really have anything to my taste though, and what I got didn't
really impress me that much. It was food, but I got tired of it
after a while. The breadsticks were alright, but I still think
I like the ones from pizza places better. I guess I've just got
a taste for cheap, fast food. I slept a short while on the way
home, despite my bottle of Bawls. We got home and I got to work
on homework and studying, which really sucked. I hate school.
Surely there's some sort of scheme I could come up with to live
richly without having to work another day in my life. I think
the United States Congress is full; what about the Senate?

Not a whole lot happened today. I got up late and tried to finish
up the rest of a Flash animation I had to do for work. I eventually
got it all figured out and sent it off to my boss. In the early
evening, my dad, sister, and I went to JCPenney and Wal-Mart for
a while, and then came home. I took my sister to go pick up her
friend Andrea, and then I dropped them off at the coffee shop.
On the way home I stopped by Sonic to see if Janine Randles was
working. I didn't figure she would be, and I was right. I saw
Jared Fitzgibbon parked there though, so I went up to see he and
Rachel Trusty sitting back in his car relaxing. I bounced on up
to the building to see who all was there, and generally ran around
making a fool of myself. It felt good to be out of the house.
After I got home, my mom called and said she missed the bus home
from Tunica, so she's going to spend the night. My dad and I went
to get the van from the Wal-Mart parking lot. After I got home,
I finished the Flash animation I mentioned above, relaxed for
a bit, and eventually got ready for bed around 6:00 in the morning.
Sleep is for girls.

4-6-01
I'm so exhausted from today. I woke up tired, and then spent
all day working instead of getting time to rest. I went out of
my way during lunch to help sell yearbook supplements because
nobody else seemed to care. After lunch, I went to the darkroom
to make some prints for people. Brandon Vaughn wasn't feeling
well, and he kept giving me the attitude that he wasn't going
to do any work after school, so I had to go take pictures of a
huge track meet by myself with two rolls of film. Thomas Hollingsworth
came down to the darkroom for a while to talk while I had to work.
During 7th period, Mr. Bradley took the class outside, and we
just relaxed for a bit there. Rebecca Brown picked up several
four-leafed clovers somehow. Some people just have all the luck.
After school, I didn't get to go home. I went straight to the
track meet to get some pictures, and didn't get to leave until
long into the evening. I was supposed to go to work right after
school, but I didn't get to stop by until I finished taking pictures.
I saw Rachel Trusty and James Bowie hanging out around at the
track thing, so I stopped by to hang out for a bit as well. My
family left me for Little Rock, so after I finished taking pictures
of the game, I cleaned up a bit and went to the coffee shop. I
saw Sarah Hindsman and Jennifer Hawkins there, so we sat and talked
for a while. Mitch Graham came by later, and the two of us went
to Sonic to grab a bite to eat. A bunch of tiny, screaming girls
came up and ordered before us. I actually recognized a couple
of them from riding my old bus several years ago. After I got
my food at Sonic, we headed back to the coffee shop for a while.
It was pretty quiet around there, so I just sat and talked with
Matt Saunders for a while. Eventually I decided it was time to
come home. Bill Mackay messaged me on ICQ for the first time in
a while, so we talked for a bit and then played a couple games
of Tribes 2. Now it's sleep time.

Things went alright for most of the day today. I had to try and
sell spring supplements for the yearbook during lunch. Ryan Bills
and I set up a table by the cafeteria and sold all of one supplement.
We didn't quite hit our quota, but nobody seemed interested. I
went to the darkroom during 5th period to develop some film, and
had a slight mishap. I had a roll of film from junior follies
in my camera, and I thought I had it wound all up, but apparently
I didn't. I popped the back and exposed all the film to the wonderful
hallway lights. I kicked myself a few times, and then went back
to the dungeons to try and develop the roll. To everyone's surprise,
all the pictures turned out fine. I think I've used up all of
my good luck for the rest of this year. After that, I went back
to the journalism room and played cards with Thomas Hollingsworth.
After school I wandered around for a bit before my sister came
out to tell me she was going with some friends, so I didn't have
to take her home. I gave Quentin Rezin a ride home, and then went
to work for a little while to see what they had for me. When I
got home, I picked up my new IBM DeskStar 75gxp 75 gig hard drive
and took it inside to install it. After a bit of decision making
as to how I wanted to split my drives up, I finally decided to
just add the whole 75 gig hunk as one big storage pit where I
can throw everything. So far I've managed to fill up approximately
12 gigs of it - Dang I'm good. Chris Lomax called for some help
with his web site while I kept setting things up the way I wanted
them. Now I just wish I could get a nice image editing program
to get rid of that stupid leprechaun at the top of this site by
the cow in the corner.

I had a pretty good day for the most part. I had to go to a meeting
for the 5th grade camp counselors during lunch. Ben Nordin and
I get to stay with a cabin full of little brats for a couple days
while they run around in the forest. I went to the art room for
quite a while 5th period to watch Rachel Trusty and Jared Fitzgibbon
spin their wheels of creativity. After that, Thomas Hollingsworth
and I went to the darkroom during 6th period to develop some film.
After school I walked Rachel out to her car, went to take a couple
pictures of a tennis game, and then went home to drop my sister
off before heading to work. My boss gave me a nifty little brief
case bag thingie to carry all my stuff back and forth in, and
I got some new stuff to work on. As soon as I got home, my mom
started griping at me for no good reason. Apparently the van was
in the shop for something, and I had to take her to go pick it
up. Then I came home, rested for a while, and played some Tribes
2. Matt Farrar came online to gripe at me about something or other.
I love friends like that. A while later, Chris Lomax called for
some more computer help, and we talked for a while about all sorts
of geeky stuff. Later in the evening, I tuned in to KXRJ
91.9 FM to listen to Matt and Jared Magee's radio show. For
some reason my image editing program stopped working, so we're
stuck with the leprechaun up in the corner of my page for a few
more days. I'm exhausted from being yelled at all day and capturing
the flag so many times in Tribes. I need sleep.

Most of the school day was fairly slow. I wasn't too busy with
work in class. Beth Post got lonely at lunch sitting by herself,
so she called me over to sit with her. After that I spent a couple
hours in the darkroom developing some film. During 6th period,
Thomas Hollingsworth and Kerryn Johns came down to visit me. The
three of us hung out in the darkroom for most of the period. After
school I ran a couple errands and stopped by work for a couple
minutes. After I got home, Jared Fitzgibbon came over for a bit
to see Tribes 2 in action. After a bit of rest, I had to go take
pictures of the Junior Follies. Most of them gave a good show,
so it was pretty fun. I wish I didn't have any homework to do
after the show though, because I had to run home as soon as I
finished taking pictures. I got home, wrote my English paper,
and then went off to get ready for bed. Just before getting into
the shower, I heard our cat outside, so I went to investigate.
She and another cat had apparently been arguing about something,
so I called her off of the fence and brought her inside for a
while. I wish I could have a couple more hours to play Tribes
before bed time.

I kept myself busy for most of today. School was alright, considering
it was a Monday. Most of my classes were just taking it easy.
I had a bit of work to do, but no unbearable amounts of any subject.
After school I wandered around for a bit until my sister came
out, and then we came home. I immediately got on my computer to
get some Tribes 2 in before I had to start my homework. I just
played the single player missions for some practice. My system's
not quite fast enough to run the game smoothly, but I'm sure if
I drop some of the graphics settings some it will be fine. I can't
wait for a weekend when I'll get some real time to play. After
a while, Chris Lomax called needing some help with his web site,
so he came over for a little while. After he left, I played some
more Tribes until I had to go take pictures of the soccer game.
After I finished the roll of film for the girls' team, I looked
up into the stands to see Angie Jennings and Matt Farrar. I went
up to see them for a bit, and to wait for the guys' game to start.
They left when the girls finished, so I went back down to the
field, took my pictures, and left. On the way home I stopped by
Kroger to pick up some food, and then came home. I squeezed in
a bit more Tribes, and then worked on my homework. I hope I dream
about capturing the enemy flag tonight. God bless Dynamix.

I didn't get to play any tricks on anyone for April Fool's Day,
but I had a bit of fun anyway. I woke up late, but I got some
stuff done for work. I called Hastings to see if they had Tribes
2, which they had available for $49.99, so I went and picked up
a copy. On my way home I stopped by Sonic to see Janine Randles
for a bit to see how she was doing. Then I came home to play Tribes.
It's a great game, but I didn't have much time to play it. My
sister got my parents to force me to help her with her homework.
She wanted to do a bunch of clipart crap, so I had to do that
instead of playing Tribes 2. Tomorrow I have to go back to school,
so it's unlikely I'll have many chances to play throughout the
course of the week. I'm mad.
