Well, it's new year's eve again. Welcome to the end of the world.
No promised computer foul-ups, but we can still be optimistic
and hope for something to happen. It snowed. It snowed and it
stuck. It snowed and it stuck and it froze. No party for me. My
dad went off and did his magic show, my sister went to a party,
and I sat at home alone in the dark. Sound fun? So much for happy
new year. Looks like it's already the same crap; just a different
year. The Cow-Patty Link of the Week page has been updated with
a new link I received from Sarah Conley. There you have it, folks.
That was my sucky day. Look on the bright side though. At least
the cow at the top, left-hand corner of my page is happy.

I didn't do anything today. I slept until around 3:00 in the
afternoon. In the evening my dad and I went to pick up my sister
from her church thing. I dropped my dad off at the church and
then went on over to Josh Higgins's place to drop off a couple
CDs he gave me before we got out of school for Christmas break.
After that we found out my sister was going to get a ride home
with her friend Lyadonna, who apparently was going to spend the
night here at our house. They were out most of the night, but
came back for a little while with Sam Bishop and David Benefield.
David and I talked for a little while, and then they all went
out for pizza I guess. Later on I found out that Sarah Hindsman
decided to throw a party. We invited each other to our parties
at the exact same moment in time. Since she had already talked
to about half the people I was going to invite, we decided to
just have the party at her place, so my party no longer exists.
Don't come to my house tomorrow night expecting to party, because
I won't be here. The News page has been changed to reflect the
absence of my party.

12-29-00
Nothing exciting happened today. I woke up around noon. My sister
is went to Little Rock for some church group thing I think, so
she won't be back until tomorrow. I spent the entire day getting
bored on the computer and watching TV. I'm going to have a party
on new year's eve. I've got to make some plans on what to do,
but it should at least be more fun than what I've been doing for
the past few days. The News page has been updated accordingly.

12-28-00
I didn't do much today. My mom's family that was staying with
us left. She went to Tunica with some of them because that's where
a couple of them were going to catch a plane from. My mom's supposed
to come back Monday. My dad has a magic show to do on new year's
eve, and I haven't really decided on my plans yet. I may just
spend yet another year at home where at least I know I'll be safe
from all the evil drunk drivers. My sister went out with Sam Bishop
again for whatever reason. She called back a while later and told
us they had gotten into a wreck. They finished their evening and
then came home and spent some time here. I stayed hidden in my
room watching a movie. I like it in here.
|
12-27-00
Today was pretty much just another day. I played around on the
computer most of the day. In the evening Jared Fitzgibbon and
I went to Staples and then to Wal-Mart trying to find a Microsoft
Intellimouse Explorer. Neither place had a single one, so we came
home empty-handed. That's pretty much the entirety of my day.
Someone call me sometime. It gets boring around here.
|
12-26-00
Merry day after Christmas. I woke up and walked out of my room
to see some punk looking kid sitting in my living room. I rubbed
my eyes, turned around, and went back into my room. My sister
went out with Sam Bishop and this other punk looking kid to do
whatever. I don't know why, so don't ask me. I played loud music,
played with my different audio effects, and ate all day. My mom's
family spent most of the day screaming at the top of their lungs
while they were playing some sort of a casino game on the living
room floor. Jared Fitzgibbon was the first person I talked to
with my new phone, except for his dad when I asked to speak to
Jared. I played around with my computer some until later in the
evening when Susi LeMaire called. We talked for a little while
because she was bored and couldn't get on the internet. After
that Jared and I tried to play a couple games of StarCraft. I
showered and came back out to play on my computer some more. This
would have been a dull day without all the Vietnamese voices yelling
in my living room and strange new applications to play with on
my computer.

12-25-00
Merry Christmas everyone! I woke up this morning just moments
before Winamp started playing its alarm, so I went out and checked
my stocking. Before I go any farther into my day, however, I must
at least mention my experience last night just before getting
ready for bed. I finally came out from hiding in my room to go
take a shower, and when I went out into the living room I happened
to walk in on my parents while they were....oh gosh, it's so hard
for me to say....I can't believe I saw it....I walked in just
as they were....just as they were STUFFING MY STOCKING! I couldn't
believe it! I wouldn't have noticed what my dad was doing if my
mom hadn't brought my attention to the fact that I had caught
them. I guess it's been proven now, folks. There really is no
Santa Claus. It's sad, I know. All my dad said was, "Ho ho
friggin' ho," in somewhat of a monotone voice. Regardless
of who stuffed my stocking, I still got some really cool stuff.
I got an awesome little black light that you can plug right into
the wall. It actually lights up my room enough to light the glow-in-the-dark
stars. I love it. I also got a package of some CD-RWs, so now
maybe it'll be a bit easier for me to back up my hard drive when
I need to. After a bit of laying around and playing on the computer,
my mom finally woke up and started to clean the house. After that
we could go open presents. I got some great stuff this year. I'm
listening to music through my amazing Sound Blaster Live! Platinum
5.1. I had some problems getting it to work right, and the Live!
Drive won't install correctly without some sort of modification,
but I'm sure I'll figure out something. I also got an awesome
cordless phone I had been wanting, a clock that runs backwards
that I asked for a while back, and a much needed surge protector
and electric razor. When my mom's family came over, I came up
with a total of $60 that will let me go get the Microsoft Intellimouse
Explorer I've been wanting. I'm just as content as I could possibly
be. My mom's family has sounded like one major fight out there,
but I can't tell if it's a happy fight or one of those bloody
fights. You can never tell with these people. Even Jared Fitzgibbon
wouldn't come over for fear of his life. At one point my mom brought
everyone in here to look at this page. I don't see what the big
deal is, but I figure if my mom wants to be weird, I'll let her.
I turned on my web can so Jared could see how weird they were.
I think that's enough for one night. Time to relax in my cage
of pure 3D digital sound.

12-24-00
'Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house not
a creature was stirring, because we weren't home. I got up around
noon and stared at my computer for a while. Then I played my old
Nintendo for a little while until I beat one of my favorite games.
In the early evening we went up to visit my grandparents in Heber
Springs. It went well until my sister started whining. After that
we came home and I sat and stared at my computer a little longer.
I almost forgot about the Cow-Patty Link of the Week. It doesn't
really matter, because I'm the only one on this planet that ever
visits my site, but I still updated it for my own amusement. Now
go to bed before Old Saint Nick decides to skip your house because
you were still awake.
|
12-23-00
I haven't really done anything today. I got up, played on the
computer, played my Super Nintendo some with my sister, and basically
wasted a bunch of time. I was going to go get a haircut, but my
parents got impatient and decided they'd just give up. Sarah Conley
wanted me to go to the coffee shop, but I wasn't really up to
it. Later she whined about me calling her a ditz. I told her I
didn't mean it as a derogatory remark, but she didn't care. Sarah
will be Sarah, so I'll let her be mad at me if she really wants
to be.
|
12-22-00
I woke up this morning and my sister had made everyone bacon
and eggs for breakfast. We were going to go to Little Rock to
go shopping, but I bailed out at the last minute. I figured I
could find something more fun to do around town. At first I couldn't
have been more wrong. I sat around watching TV and playing around
on the computer. In the early evening, Jared Fitzgibbon and I
went over to the Dardanelle Wal-Mart so he could buy a memory
card for his Dreamcast. He said both Wal-Mart and K-Mart in Russellville
didn't have any. After that we went back to his house and played
Soul Calibur on his Dreamcast for a while. His dad went and got
us food from Wendey's, for which I'm grateful, so we sat and played
and ate and had a grand old time. After that I came home and got
bored again until my family came home. They gave me some leftovers
they had from Red Lobster, so I was a happy camper. I've been
sitting here watching my frog candle burn down for quite some
time now. It's successfully transformed itself from a frog, to
a hollow frog, to a puddle of green goo. I dare not guess what
surprises the next day will bring us.

12-21-00
I didn't do much today but sit around waiting to see if I was
going to get called in to work on the yearbook. I didn't get called,
but I kept wondering if I should go in anyway. Eventually enough
time passed that it didn't matter any more, so I tried to find
something else to do. My family left me to go shopping, so I asked
around and eventually decided to meet Sarah Conley and another
friend of hers from Hector that I've talked to a couple times
before on ICQ. No offense to anyone, but I don't remember the
last time I saw such ditzy people. No words can describe the degree
of ditziness that I was experiencing. Eventually I saw Jason Huynh
and Ryan Cochran come in, so I went over and sat with them for
a while. Ryan and I played a couple games of chess until we decided
to go home. I wonder what fun stuff I can find to do tomorrow.

12-20-00
Today was an extremely short day. I got to school and went straight
to the EAST Lab for the testing period. I spent the whole time
studying for my history test, which I had next. The history test
was amazingly easy, and we spent about half the period in there
just talking. After that I went to the journalism room for our
evaluations in there. I gave Eliesha her secret Santa gift, which
she seemed to like. We made balloon animals and played around
for most of the period. After that we were free to go home, so
I went up to see if anyone else was wandering around. My sister
got a ride home with her friend Andrea so I could wander around
and try to find some friends to talk to. Eventually I ran into
Rachel Trusty, who was talking to Mr. Hines, the art teacher.
We walked around for a little while until she was ready to head
on out. I walked her to her car and then came back to take one
more walk through the school. Not finding anyone else to talk
to, I came home to an empty house. I spent the entire afternoon
and evening sitting in front of the computer playing Frogger 2
or watching TV out in the living room. Absolutely nobody came
online. Later in the evening I talked to Justine Fitzgibbon and
Beth Scott. Beth is spending part of her Christmas vacation in
Mississippi, so I talked to her for a while until she decided
to go to bed. Hopefully I'll find something to do tomorrow. I
may get called in to work on the yearbook.

12-19-00
I got to sleep in a bit this morning. Semester tests didn't start
until 8:30 today. My sister must have misunderstood something,
because she insisted that she had to be at school at 8:00 or she
would otherwise be counted tardy or absent from class. She talked
my dad into taking her, and no more than a couple minutes after
he got back it was time for me to leave. What a phenomenal waste
of gas. My English test was easy, my calculus test seemed hard,
but I think I did alright on it, and my physics test was just
long and boring. That's pretty much all I did during the day.
After school I went to finish my calculus test. When I came back
up, I saw Cassie Hilgerson sitting over by her locker, so I figured
I'd go talk to her for a bit. After a few minutes my sister walked
around the corner and got rather rude. I started to walk Cassie
out, and after a little while my sister and her friend Andrea
came along behind me. She started giving lip and being really
rude to both Cassie and I, so I had to take them home. I studied
and played around for a while on the computer. After dinner I
went to Wal-Mart to do a little Christmas shopping for the secret
Santa thing we're doing in journalism. After that I came home
and studied some more for my history test tomorrow. Luckily that's
all I have to take and then I'm out for Christmas break.
|
12-18-00
Today wasn't too bad for the first day back at school after a
5 day break. I wish we could get snowed out for this week too,
and just take semester tests when we get back. I don't like them
all packed up like they are now. I have three tests tomorrow,
and I have a feeling the calculus test will chew my butt no matter
how much I study. Mrs. Heflin went over the material with us,
and I studied, but I always seem to go completely blank when I
take her tests. No amount of study, prayer, or sugar cookies is
going to help me out this time. There's just too much to know
at once, and not much of it goes together. Pretty much all we
did today was go over what was going to be on our semester tests.
We had a nice little party in journalism. I didn't know we were
doing our secret Santa gifts today though, so I need to go and
get something before Wednesday. Near the end of 6th period I went
to Mr. Lonon's class and talked to Rachel Trusty for a while since
I haven't seen her around much lately. The next period, after
a bit of sitting around and doing nothing, I got up and spent
a little time in the darkroom with Cassie Hilgerson. After she
was done in there we went and sat in physics until the end of
class when I went upstairs with her and a few other people and
just stood around talking. After school I came home and slept
for a while because I was so tired. Then I studied over calculus
until my head hurt. Maybe if my brain explodes I won't have to
take any tests tomorrow.

12-17-00
I don't have too much to say about today. I woke up when my Uncle
Mai called. Right after I finished talking to him and hung up,
my Uncle Giao called. I hadn't even let go of the phone yet before
it started ringing. I talked to him for a little while and then
got up and wandered around the house for a bit. I spent most of
the day just surfing the web and stuff. Later in the evening,
my dad went out and got a Christmas tree. After that my whole
family went up to my dad and sister's church for some Christmas
party thing. We listened to the choir and then went down to the
rec-room (or whatever you'd call it) where they had some food
and stuff. I kind of just wanted to go home. I was tired, as I
am now. Everyone go vote on the Cow-Patty Links of the Weeks.
I think Sarah Conley is the only one that ever votes. It's rather
sad. Feel free to submit links too. There's a link to a form on
the CP-LOTW page.

12-16-00
My dad woke me up this morning and reminded me that the ANO Christmas
party was today. I got up and ready, and then my dad, sister,
and I went over to Picwood and watched Dungeons and Dragons. The
game's a billion times better than the movie. The computer animation
was fairly cheap, the plot was nonexistent, several of the characters
were just dumb, and most of the movie was just illogical and dumb.
I had fun though. After we got home, my dad and sister went to
a wedding while I tried to keep myself busy so I wouldn't die
of boredom. Jared Fitzgibbon and I tried to play Starcraft, but
he kept getting his butt kicked by the computer. Later I finally
convinced him to come to Higher Grounds with me. I don't think
it was the best time to be there though, because there were far
too few people there and Jared said the coffee was weak. We tried
to play some games they had there, but we didn't get far before
I got beeped and had to go pick up my sister from the movies.
When I got her and her friend Andrea, they wanted to go to Higher
Grounds to hang out. When they didn't see anybody there that they
knew, they decided to leave right away. Eventually I got home
and relaxed some. Around 11:30 or so, Jared asked to borrow a
CD, so I walked it over to his house. It was cold; very cold.
The wind was the worst part, but I made it alive. Now I'm sitting
back, chilling (defrosting actually), and listening to loud music.
|
12-15-00
I didn't go anywhere today. I thought I might go to Higher Grounds
with Jared Fitzgibbon, but both of us got too lazy. I worked on
some stuff and played a few games. The snow's all melted off of
the roads now. I heard that semester tests are being postponed
so we won't have any on Monday. It doesn't really matter to me.
Later in the evening my sister wanted to go to Higher Grounds,
but my mom wouldn't let her. That set off a big chain reaction
of arguing, fighting, and screaming back and forth between the
two. I actually took my sister's side thinking my mom was being
irrational and just plain dumb to an extent. I waited a while
before jumping in though, as I was in the middle of watching a
movie. Eventually I tried to get them both to shut up, and my
mom slapped me. I held her hands down so she couldn't do it again.
On the outside I was grinning at how easily I could overpower
her weak muscles, but on the inside I was hurt that she actually
wanted to hit me although I hadn't really done anything wrong.
My sister, being the idiot she is sometimes, kept fighting against
me even though I was on her side. She insisted that I'm a bad
person and that I should be punished for various random things
she listed. I got bored of the situation and just decided to ignore
both my sister and mom, and went back out into the living room
to finish my movie. After the movie I played a game of checkers
with Jared, and later still, played another game with his sister's
friend, Kasey Garrison. I like Yahoo! checkers.

12-14-00
As you notice, the page has taken in a bit of the festivities
around us. The great cow now has a Santa hat to show her excitement
about the holiday. I woke up late today. I'm enjoying these snow
days. I didn't really do much all day. I surfed around some, played
a few games, and chatted with a few people that came on every
now and then. Later in the evening I got on NetMeeting with Angelina
Soares, an internet friend of mine, and Jared Fitzgibbon. That
was great fun, but it didn't last very long. Everyone decided
they had to go, even though school's canceled again tomorrow (for
no apparent reason, as the roads are clear of all ice). I talked
to Susi LeMaire some, and she's finally going to let me put a
couple of her senior portraits on my Pictures page. Other than
that, there's not much going on today. I don't have to worry about
getting everything ready for a LAN party because the Russellville
Quake III Arena Tournament has been moved to January 13th. Since
there's no school tomorrow and the roads are clear, maybe I'll
go out and do something with some friends.
|
12-13-00
It's all white outside. It's kind of neat, except it doesn't
seem to be real snow, just white crap. I didn't even go out in
it until the end of the day though. My dad had me come out and
help him shovel the driveway so it wouldn't be all iced over in
the morning when he'd have to go to work. I didn't do much during
the day but sit and play with some stuff on the computer. Mrs.
Little called me before noon and asked if I had any film to take
pictures of kids playing in the snow. I didn't see anyone out
there, and I figured it was all slushy and nasty, so I didn't
go out and try to find anyone. Later in the evening, Jason Huynh,
Jared Fitzgibbon, and I got on NetMeeting and played around with
the whiteboard. It's great fun to start drawing something and
then have everyone else add on to it. No school again tomorrow.
Maybe I can get some more people into a big meeting and have some
great artistic fun!
A correction from yesterday's log: Jared has informed me that
his response to the great "naked man" scene was not
as I stated. His exact words were, "O GOD NAKED MAN WHAT
KINDA WEBCAST IS THIS?!"
|
12-12-00
School was awfully tiring today. My morning wasn't so great,
but it got a bit better in the afternoon. I made 6 or so prints
in the darkroom and then went to Mr. Lonon's class near the end
of 6th period. He didn't kick me out, but Rachel Trusty was the
only one that would talk to me, so we talked for a little while
until the end of the period. Physics was the usual looking at
stuff on the overhead. Cassie Hilgerson came by my little window
a few times, so I talked to her through it. After Mr. Bradley
finished going over his material, I went over to the darkroom
to hang up a couple prints I had washing, and caught Cassie on
the way out. We talked for a little while, and then we went on
upstairs to go home. I waited with her for a little while until
her mom came to pick her up, and then I came home myself. When
I got home, I took a nice long nap and then played on NetMeeting
with Jared Fitzgibbon and Sarah Hindsman for a while. I was the
only one sending video or sound, but we all played on the whiteboard.
I, for one, had a blast doing that. I cracked up when my dad came
in after he had gotten out of the shower and still hadn't put
a shirt on. He had no idea that I was broadcasting video, so he
just walked right in still putting on his shirt. Without a microphone,
all Jared could do was type, "OMG!!! NAKED MAN!!! WHAT KIND
OF A BROADCAST IS THIS???" Great fun. No school tomorrow.
More fun.

12-11-00
I've determined that I simply have too much to do. The day went
by fairly well, but I had a lot of work to do. I got a 95% on
my history term paper. About the only exciting thing that happened
in school today was that I found a black widow spider in the darkroom.
That's quite comforting, considering how I generally spend two
to three hours in there every day, in the dark, all alone. After
school I developed two pictures for the Red and Black school newspaper.
On the way home from school I picked up Bryan Connerly, who was
going to walk home, and took him home and tried to help him fix
his computer while I was there. Given the short amount of time
I had to look at it, I couldn't figure out anything about his
sound card. After that I met the rest of my family at New China
to eat before my sister's band concert, which I had to take pictures
of for the yearbook. When that was over with, I drove slowly home
just to relax and enjoy the ride. I had some good music on my
MP3 player, and I didn't want to rush through it. I'm having a
few problems with my computer, but given some spare time I should
be able to fix it. This week is going to be very busy though.
I've actually got to do a story for the yearbook, and I don't
know where to begin. On top of that I'll have to develop pictures
for everyone else too. Too bad I'm not getting paid or I'd have
that Lamborghini that I've always wanted by now.

I had a pretty good day today. My mom, dad, and I went to Fort
Smith for the magic club's Christmas potluck. There was some great
food and a good magic show afterward. After that we went around
to some different oriental food stores so my mom could get some
stuff. The last place we stopped before heading home was Best
Buy. I looked around at a few things and then spotted an IBM PC
Camera for $4. That's right, folks. Four bucks. I couldn't resist.
I got it home and popped it up, and in no time I was making idiotic
videos of myself jumping around my room. The quality sucks, the
refresh rate sucks, things blur when they move really fast, and
the camera is just ugly in general. I couldn't be happier. That
was the best $4 I've ever spent in one place. Actually I'm going
to have to wait for a rebate to come back, but I just want to
emphasize the fact that when it's all done and over with, I would
have spent a total of 4 dollars. Maybe some day when I get really
bored I'll post some videos or crappy pictures, but for now I
think I'll hold off on uploading large amounts of data. I think
I'm already over my limit of space on the server, but they haven't
said anything about it yet. Hopefully my luck will hold out.
I also found out the details about my mom's training. She's going
to help do peoples' taxes, so she'll need a car for the first
week of school in January. When the job actually starts, she'll
only need it once a week. I think I can live with that, but don't
let that stop you from donating to the Zellie Needacar Fund! If
nothing else, I'll give you credit on the site for your kindness
and generosity!

It was a rather cold and rainy day today. I didn't go out any.
I spent all day listening to Rockapella, the group that did those
Folger's Coffee commercials. I love acapella. I thought about
going out to do something, but I got lazier and didn't feel like
going out in the rain. I downloaded a few freeware programs and
stuff to try and cure my boredom for a while. Later in the evening
my mom told me she's planning to take some classes starting the
beginning of next year, and then after that she would start a
job. If I had to guess, I'd say she's just out of money to blow
away in Tunica. It probably wouldn't have bothered me too much
except for the tiny detail she made quite clear: she's taking
over the car. No more car for little Zellie. Zellie no more drivie-drivie.
I've come to the conclusion that I need a car of my own. If any
of you faithful Galloping Cow readers happen to have a car you're
not using at the moment, preferably a nice little sports car,
please donate it to the Zellie Needacar Fund. Any donations would
be greatly appreciated. Feel free to send cash, checks, money
orders, or small, valuable, re-sellable items of value to:

I had to wake up extra early this morning because I had a field
trip that was leaving at 7:15. A bunch of the EAST Lab seniors
were going to the University of Arkansas, Little Rock for something
they had going up there. When we got there, we took a nice long
nature walk from the bus to where we needed to be. The auditorium
was kind of cool. The PowerPoint presentation they showed us there
kind of sucked, but that was ok. After that we split up into groups.
The first place my group went was to the rocket engine. It didn't
work the first time, but the second time it made a nice loud noise
and a bright red flame for about 3 seconds. To me it didn't look
like they were doing anything special. It seemed like old technology
that they were just playing around with. After that we went to
their EAST Lab where almost all of the computers had Wacom Tablets,
all had QuickCams, and other nifty stuff like that. After that
we went to lunch where we sat for quite a while just hanging out.
We got a real lunch period instead of the stupid 25 minutes they
give us at high school. After chilling there for a while, we went
back over towards the auditorium and a few of us went up some
stairs to one of the roofs to look down on everyone else. When
it was time to gather up again, we went to a building to see what
was supposed to be some advanced wireless technology. It turned
out being some speakers at one end of a hallway, and an infrared
transmitter on the other end that was sending a stream of music.
That was probably the dumbest part of the whole thing. The last
and probably best thing we went to was a planetarium. People kept
asking really dumb questions, but just sitting back and watching
the view was great. I napped a little on the way home, and we
got to the school just in time for me to see my sister getting
into a car with her friend and her mom because I didn't think
I would be back in time to take her home. I sat and stared at
a blank screen for quite a while. Nobody was on. It was really
strange. Eventually my sister wanted to go to the coffee shop,
so I took her there and then went over to Mitch Graham's house.
Then we went over to the coffee shop ourselves. We met Ashley
Hardin and some of her friends there, so we sat around playing
games for a while. Then Mitch wanted to go home, so Ashley and
I took him home and then came back to the coffee shop. Just as
soon as we got there, she and her friend headed on out, so I went
in to check on my sister. She wasn't ready to come home yet, so
I went home and waited until she called to go pick her up. After
such a long day and a couple hours of log typing, I think it's
time for bed.

I went to school this morning with a bottle of chocolate syrup.
The bottle was mostly empty, and I had filled it with milk to
finish up the last few drops of chocolate in it. Every time I
pulled it out to take a drink out of it, at least half a dozen
people would get these really shocked looks on their faces. A
few people caught on, but most stared in disbelief. Classes were
quiet for the most part. I didn't really do much of anything most
of the day. After school I came home by myself because my sister
was going to go somewhere with a friend. I tried to call Susi
several times to see if she was coming to the basketball game
here tonight, but I got an answering machine every time, so eventually
I just gave up. Around 7:00 I went to take pictures of the choir
concert. After about 45 minutes to an hour, I went to the basketball
game to see how things were going. When Danny Jackson showed up,
I went back to the choir concert to take some pictures of the
whole group singing. After that was over, I went back to the game
to finish up my role of film. I didn't see Susi up there in the
crowd, but that wasn't really a surprise. Tomorrow I have to get
up super early to get to school at 7:00. The EAST Lab seniors
are taking a trip to the University of Arkansas, Little Rock tomorrow.
It's going to be a long day, but in pleasant company for the most
part. It should be quite fun.

I was tired all day today. I don't know exactly what it was.
After I finished my history in class, I just took a little nap.
I spent some time wandering around during 5th and 6th periods.
It was rather boring, but I got a few pictures for some other
people in yearbook. I just laid my head down on my desk and sat
quietly in physics. After he finished talking about stuff, I went
over to the darkroom to see what the photography students were
up to. I mixed another bottle of developer and just hung out in
there until school let out. Cassie Hilgerson gave me her number
in case I wanted to call and talk about whatever. After I finished
shaking up the bottle of developer, I packed up and went on upstairs
to go home. I talked to Rachel Trusty for a few seconds and then
started heading out. Cassie was waiting for her mom to bring her
camera to school, so I waited around to keep her company. After
she got all of that taken care of, I went home and relaxed for
a while. After dinner I decided to call Cassie just to see what
was up. We talked for a little while, and then she asked to call
back in about half an hour, so I played around for a while and
called back. I think I was boring her, because I didn't really
have anything to talk about and we just sat in silence for a while.
It was more fun than just sitting and staring at the computer
screen though. After she left, I started working on a form so
everyone can submit links to the Cow-Patty Link of the Week. If
anyone submits anything, maybe I won't have to search so hard
for really crappy sites any more. I think I'm going to go to bed
now. I've been conscious long enough for today.

Most everything went by easily today. I got my history paper
turned in, so all I have to do is wait for a grade on it. I spent
a couple hours in the darkroom and made a couple contact sheets.
Seventh period was rather fun. Before we actually started class,
Cassie Hilgerson came over to visit for a little while. I went
to the darkroom with her for a little while to hang up one of
my contact sheets and show her the negatives from the two rolls
of film I finished developing for her last week. We tried to sneak
away from class, but Bradley was out in the hall. We took off
running after we passed him, but he whistled for me to get back
to class. After he finished going over the material for the day,
Angie Jennings, Cassie, and I went out into the hall to hang out
and talk or whatever. After school I hung around Rachel Trusty
for a little while because I haven't talked to her much lately,
but Brian Connerly kept jumping all over me. Then I came home
and had some problems with the garage door. When it was time for
my sister's private flute lessons, my dad and I went to order
my graduation stuff. Susi called later while I was eating, so
I listened to her talk and sing along to some music she was playing
until it was time for both of us to go. A little while later,
I sat down comfortably to watch the last part of the Dune mini-series.
What a wonderful rest day this has been.

Today was a bit different. I got to school and went through my
normal day. Calculus flew by, and soon it was lunch time. After
that, Mrs. Little gave us a stress-relief day. She had bought
us all some Pokémon paddle-balls to beat around, and had
a big package of Christmas cookies. Most of us decided that getting
the paddle-balls to work right was more stressful than our regular
yearbook work. I've managed to get mine to work for a few seconds
at a time. I visited Mr. Lonon's class with one for a little while.
It didn't take him very long to kick me out. After school I came
pretty much straight home because there wasn't anyone around the
school to talk to. I played around for a bit and then began work
on my history paper. I missed about the first half hour of Dune,
but my dad got it taped for me. I got confused and thought it
started at 9:00 for some reason. After that was over I finished
up my paper and headed off to the showers. I knew I could do it.

I got a bit of extra sleep today. I didn't go to Heber Springs
with my dad and sister. I had a paper to work on, as well as some
other homework, which I'm still working on now. I put up a new
Cow-Patty Link of the Week. For some reason it's incredibly difficult
for me to find extremely sucky pages. One would think the web
would be full of places like that. My only problem is that most
search engines I'm trying don't pick up pages like that. I can
sit and look all day and never find a page bad enough to put on
the CP-LOTW. I talked to Susi some again today. She had her senior
portraits scanned. One of these days she'll let me put the casual
shots up on the Pictures page. At 9:00 I took a break from everything
and went to watch the new mini-series, Dune, on the Sci-Fi channel.
It was great, but I can't decide if I like it more than the original.
It's got all sorts of great computer generated artwork and animation,
which I love, but there are just a few things missing from it
that were captured better in the first movie. Neither movie does
justice to the book though. I'll just have to wait and see how
the rest of the mini-series turns out tomorrow.

I didn't get to do much of what I wanted to do today. A little
while after I woke up, Ryan Bills called and said Mrs. Little
wanted me down in the yearbook room working, so I spent all day
there. Erin Barnhouse and I went to get whiteout and then to pick
up 9 meals that we ordered from Subway. I got bored sitting around
there, but I guess I helped a little. After I got home from that,
my dad, sister, and I went out to eat and then went shopping for
a little while and then came home. My friend Susi LeMaire from
Hector came on again for the first time in a while. She got a
new ICQ account for whatever reason. I may not go to Heber Springs
tomorrow, because I've got a lot of work that I need to do here
at home. Right now I'm tired and my hands are cold. It's such
a slow day.

Today marks the beginning of a new month's set of logs. The History
page has been updated accordingly. School was pretty boring. We
didn't do much in any classes. I spent two hours in the darkroom
working on random things. After spending the night in the fixer,
both Cassie Hilgerson's and my rolls of film were nice and clear.
Yesterday hers were streaked with dark purple. I was almost afraid
they wouldn't turn out, but they were fine. After school I got
everything gathered and headed pretty much straight home. With
the drama club setting things up for the play, I didn't have any
friends there to talk to. When I got home, I just sat down and
rested for a while. I really wish I could spend some time resting
this weekend, but I've got too much to do. Around 7:45, I went
over to Sarah Conley's house before heading to Higher Grounds.
One of her friends was singing there tonight, so she, Nikki Holbrook,
and I sat around for a couple hours listening to that and just
hanging out. Christi Bauer came a couple times for just a short
while, but I guess she found something better to do.
I've finally talked to my dad about which logs he wanted me to
edit. Changes have now been made to logs for October 25th and
26th of 2000.
